This map shows the typical price for a female escort in the various countries. The scale at the bottom is in US dollars. For example, an escort in Australia costs between US$300 and US$350.

I think the scale on the bottom is the clue. It's the price of something in dollars in each country. Surprise surprise the UK is pretty high so we're getting screwed as usual.

Or it could be the average spend by American tourists in each country.
