As a White, still fairly young American man, would I be treated good in Okinawa?

I heard Okinawa is less backwards, xenophobic and more laid back then other parts of Japan. But I've also heard they've been trying for years to kick out the American soldiers because they get drunk and destroy stuff and make accidents and they keep raping the local women. But I don't plan to commit any war crimes. I just wanna see the geology, sea and historic sites and leave. Will I be okay if I'm not there to commit war crimes?
