I'm glad to read the update, though I still don't get why they couldn't lure him with food away from the child and into a holding cage.
That's actually a good idea. Maybe they didn't think of doing that at the moment.
The rest of the gorillas were lured away, why not harambe?
From what I gathered its because he's the alpha male. He was more concerned with showing who's boss than eating or anything else. So nothing would have worked to distract him until he felt the threat was over.
harambles death was justified.
Unfortunately that was how it had to end for the big guy

I wonder what would've happened then. Like what if they did miss and accidentally get the kid or if the gorilla shifted by the time the bullet reached them and it only got the kid? Would they have shot the gorilla too? Even though the kid wasn't technically in danger anymore? That's scary to think about.
