10 of the Worst National Anthem Performances EVER!

Independence Day is almost upon us! And I figure most people will be doing Takes on what the day means, honoring fallen soldiers, and what have you. However, we all know that I always take a different route when it comes to holidays. I enjoy humor and what better way to enjoy a good laugh than seeing so horrible, terrible, awful, horrendous renditions of our great National Anthem? So, without further delay, here's a list of the 10 worst national anthem performances.

Also, for the purpose of this list, it'll be older singers. Yes, I know, Harper Gruzin was bad, but she was a kid when she did it so she's not on the list.

1. The Cheetah Girls

If you think you can make it through this video, then by all means, do so. If not, I can't blame you, just move on to number two.

2. Chattanooga Police Chief

3. Victoria Zarlenga

No girl...just...no.

4. Cuba Gooding, Sr.

Yeah...I'm gonna have to pass on all of this.

5. Carl Lewis

At least he apologized!

6. This Poor Girl

You can't help but feel bad...

7. Christina Aguilera

Probably the only person on the list that sand in tune, her issues lay elsewhere. She started out fine...then she forgot the words...and tried to do a ton of runs...and began screaming in the mic...and changed keys a few times...

8. Roseanne

This is probably the only performance on the list that is unforgivable because it was intentionally done to be horrible.

9. Michael Bolton

In his defense, singing with that bad sound delay would mess up a lot of singers.

10. Steven Tyler

This one actually wasn't that bad...until you get to the end.

some of these are terrible. The Carl Lewis and Roseanne are so bad it makes you think it's a joke, but sadly at least Carl Lewis was trying

The Cheetah girls isn't good they are pitchy as hell
The anthem at the US vs Scotland soccer match is unfortunate and sounds to me like her ear piece wasn't working so she didn't realize how pitchy and off she was

the worst is the cop's anthem. he got about 10 words right in the whole song. Seems inexcusable for him to butcher it so badly

You know when you're nervous about something and you think about all the worst possible things that could go wrong? Well #6 played out all of the things that could've gone wrong for that performance. If I had to do the anthem, I'd be singing/mesmerising it daily. I'd be singing it in my sleep.

Roseanne's was insulting. The privileged Jew had the shamelessness to criticize the same nation that keeps their terrorist state of Israel alive. If it were not for the United States, the rest of the Middle East would have blown them off the map multiple times.

Roseanne's was just plain insulting. But you really have to feel terrible for #6 and honestly, I can't believe it doesn't happen more often. The nerves have to be so insane for amateurs...

Yeah, the Roseanne one annoyed me, which is really hard to do because I don't pay the anthem much attention because it wasn't written with minorities in mind. Still, that was just disrespectful, especially since she spat at the end. That's just rude.

Um, well, it was originally written in 1814, when "minorities" wasn't even a word. And a national anthem shouldn't have anything to do with race or politics; it's about the country and its citizens, regardless of their origins or ethnicity. Which it is already. The day they force a rewrite to make sure the PC police are appeased is the day I move.

I know, that's my point. It has nothing to do with my family especially my native American side. Plus, I feel there are too many contradictions in it with the way society has changed since it was written. I don't dislike it or anything, I just recognize that it really doesn't have much to do with me or my family. Hell, they weren't even counted as full people, they were 3/5 of person for a bit there.

About 5.5 years ago, Michigan state and unc were playing on the carrier classic and the dude singing might've given one of the most cringe worthy performances I've heard

Michael Bolton actually sounded pretty good. It's just the delay threw him and he got pissed off at it. He recovered well though.

I put him on there because, minus the sound delay, he actually didn't stay on the beat and at the end, the last that he held out wasn't in tune.
