Best national anthems according to ADFSDF1996

As someone who likes orchestral music, I have listened to various national anthems to see which ones I like. Here’s my list of the national anthems that in my opinion are amazing. Note this is apolitical.

1.) Russian Federation anthem: In my opinion this is the greatest national anthem created and is only rivaled by the Mexican and German national anthems. It was originally composed as a anthem for the Bolsheviks by Alexander Alexandrov who also composed religious songs. Eventually the anthem was adopted as the anthem of Soviet Union. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, a new anthem was adopted for the newly formed Russian federation but didn’t really catch on and the melody of the Soviet Union once again became the anthem of Russia but the political lyrics were replaced with new lyrics that are purely patriotic.

2.) European Union anthem: The melody is Beethoven’s 9th symphony(ode to joy). While it has lyrics in Latin, most people sing the traditional German lyrics of ode to joy.

3.)German national anthem: The melody of the “Deutschlandlied” has been used in many other ways but it’s currently the national anthem of Germany.

4.) Perhaps the most recognizable anthem in the world. Most people have only heard the first verse but in reality it has more than one. I instantly fell in love with this song when I first heard it when I was little.

5.) Mexico: A very militaristic anthem that has a fast beat to it.

6.) Japan: The shortest anthem in the world due to it only having one stanza. It has a nice melody and lyrics.

7.)UK: The melody itself has been used by many other countries but it is currently the anthem of the UK.


8.)China A very ancient culture that is still around today and is one of the world’s current superpowers. Their anthem is also very militaristic and makes no references to communism.

9.)Morocco: It was composed around 1956.

10.)Namibia: Land of the brave has been the anthem of Namibia since 1991.

11.)Chile: A very patriotic anthem.

12.) Italy: The anthem of Italy called “the chant of the Italians” is over a century old and is a very lively song.

13.)Spain: A anthem called “the royal march”.

14.) Maastricht anthem: The melody itself was actually composed by a Romanian named Ciprian Porumbescu but is currently used by the Dutch city of Maastricht as their anthem.

15.)Poland: A great country with a great anthem.

I’m sure there are many more great anthems but these are the ones that have gotten my attention so far.
