What do you think about Bill Cosby’s release from prison? Don’t you think the judicial system in America failed survivors?

“America’s dad” is now a free man. His indecent assault conviction was overturned on Wednesday after finding that he was denied protection against self incrimination. Am just stunned that he was found guilty by a jury and now goes free on a procedural issue that is irrelevant to the facts of the case.

The American “justice” system routinely fails victims of sexual assault. This is just another glaring example of that and yet another show of proof for my case when I argued with another user in here about such matters. Dude should be shot like every other rabid animal.

This guy had the money to afford attorneys who could worked tirelessly years and years until they took advantage of that loophole. But still, am glad he served part of his sentence

That aside, he does have some pretty damming evidence, enough to make a case that, at the very least, Cosby wasn't given a fair trial, meaning that the judge himself is a corrupt criminal.

Is Cosby innocent of drugging and sexually assaulting women?
He deserved the 10 years or even more. Lots of women accused him and he himself confessed to the crime. He is a rapists walking on the streets. Sad!

It's a bit more complicated than that. Lot's of accusers doesn't mean that they are honest or credible, as Razorfist exposed them here. Some of the claims that influenced the trial were admittedly lies. He confessed to a relatively minor part of it all, given that he was accused of other things, and more cases. Anyway, he only really said that he had sex on Quaaludes, something that isn't rape if you have prior consent, which he claimed to have had. And sure, abusing prescription drugs is a crime, but man that's nowhere near comparable to rape.

Lawyer Bruce Caster was the one that dropped the ball. So Bruce made a deal with Bill in 2005 not to criminally charge him with testimony on a civil case. The civil case moved forward with a settlement going to the victim millions of dollars.

So by law the criminal trial was not Constitutional because of breaking the fifth amendment right to not incriminating yourself. Basically the same law were cops have to read you your rights and you have a lawyer to defend you. Cosby is a guilty scumbag but these rights are more important.

So all of his testimony can't be criminal evidence but all of his own testimony will be avaliable to file civil charges. So every victim should push forward civil charges and take every cent cosby has until he wishes he was in jail.
