Just so it's clear.. Bill Cosby is still guilty of what he is accused of. The conviction being overturned is because the prosecution was incompetent. So for those claiming that they knew or felt that he was innocent... know and feel differently. The fact still remains that Bill Cosby is still guilty of the terrible acts that he is accused of...
There was never any actual physical evidence against Cosby. Since I was not in the room - and I assume you weren't either - the only evidence is the testimony of the accuser and the accused.
Bear in mind this is an accuser who waited many months to tell anyone what had happened. The DA at the time recognised that there was not enough evidence to gain a conviction in a criminal trial at the time. The result was that Cosby was not charged criminally, meaning he was denied his 5th amendment right to refuse to testify and incriminate himself criminally. The DA changed and the new incumbent operated in bad faith by taking statements made under oath in the civil case to force a charge against Cosby.
The problem is that even with the civil case statements, we still don't actually know what happened in the room. Those statements should not have been admitted as evidence as it was not gained lawfully for a criminal matter. It's possible that Cosby may have just said anything to get the overzealous investigators to go away. It's also possible that he did exactly what he was accused of. The point is that there is not evidence beyond all REASONABLE doubt. That's the cornerstone of the justice system.
I've sat on a jury for several cases, including a murder and a rape. It's not easy to look into the eyes of someone accused of those crimes. It's even harder to look at the victim or their family. The issue is taking the evidence, not any preconceptions.
Based on what I saw at the time of his trial, plus the new ruling that the backbone of the prosecution case was inadmissible, Cosby should never have been found guilty, even if the case had made it to court.
People will now decide themselves if what happened was what his accuser says or what Cosby says happened. Its safe to say his career is over. No network will touch reruns of his classic series from the 80s never mind making something new.
There is a lesson for you in this development. You didn't see it coming because the MSM NEVER told you about this part of the case. It didn't fit the narrative they were selling so they didn't bother to tell you.

I’m disgusted that this man is out of prison. But as much as I don’t like it, you can’t offer immunity for him to admit what he did, and then prosecute him. Is he guilty? Yep. Should he be in jail? Yep. Were his Fifth Amendment rights violated? Definitely.
I am very surprised. I don't think at this point anyone believes he is innocent. While I concede that there are always people who will like just to get on the litigation bandwagon, there has to be some guilt present with that many different accusers who are independent of each other.
Yes, Cosby was guilty of what he got convicted of, but there is still supposed to be something called due process in the US. The prosecutor made a 'no-prosecution" deal with Cosby, so he shouldn't have been prosecuted, whatever one thinks of that deal.
It should also be mentioned that Cosby did do two years in jail for what he did. What this case really shows is the value of having good defense lawyers.

Bill Cosby did NOT get a fair trial - hence his convictions are invalid, and he's free to go.
Also, most of the "terrible acts" were hearsay and neither stood up in court. Hence the prosecutor going down the unconstitutional route that he did, to entrap Bill.
Not saying Bills innocent, but certainly did not get a fair trial.

He got off on a technicality, that should have been invoked at the time of his trial. I agree, that this, in no way, absolves him of his guilt. He still can be convicted with testimony from known witnesses in a civil trial.

You can't be given immunity from prosecution in exchange your sealed testimony. For the next DA to come in and throw out that immunity and unseal your testimony. He is probably guilty; but you can't be fast and loose with the rules of the legal system and expect that your convictions to stand.

Exactly I would expect the police department not to fuck this up like usual it's funny how nobody brought this up when this all started this is a major egregious violation but it brings to light on snitching system immunity in exchange for Testimony how fragile it is.
