Basically, he was freed from the conviction because the court was allowed to hear he had molested and raped other women before. So because the evidence included even more rape and molestation, he was freed from this one. That sucks. The legal beagles fucked up the way they handled it and gave an opening for his eventual release. Now the other cases are so far back he is immune from prosecution for them. I guess if you are going to be a criminal, be a really terrible criminal and you can get away with it.
He was imprisoned because he’s black. He should have never been in prison because there was 0 evidence of rape.

in my opinion He should be jailed for the rest of his life. That being said he was only criminally charged for one incident, and that incident was overturned by the supreme court because the procurer's fucked up and "promised" not to charge him a while back and let him settle the matter in a civil case. They charged him anyways tho and here we are now. I hope they find a way to throw him back in jail.

Hell no, I strongly disagree with him beeing freed. I am actually reading the news of this now on this website. I honestly can't believe he got away with date raping girls for years and freed. I was actually charged with rape in college once. It was devastating to my life. It made it on the local newspaper at my college (40,000 undergrads). I had to work for 2 years with a dream team of lawyers and spent $75k to convince courts I didn't do anything. For those of you who are actually paying attention to this post lol a video from security camera footage was released 2 years into the trial that showed me passed out drunk while the girl put the condom on me and i was barely responsive. I absolutely abhor guys taking advantage of girls by forcing themselves on them. Whats the problem? They can't get girls without forcing themselves?
The point of sentencing is reform of the offender Sending pensioners to jail for crimes they did when young doesn't help anyone. In Europe you can sue only for so many years. For this reason in particular. The person can stop doing the crime as time passes. Sending a reformed person to jail will make him be worse when he gets out. It varries from country to country for how long after the crime proceedings can start. People change. If he does it again sure, jail him. Anglo-American law is medieval in many ways. Victims need to forgive to move on. They didn't ask to be drugged and raped. But i bet most of them wanted to climb the social ladder in his company or were hoping for a good fuck while being conscious. They wanted to take advantage of him but ended up sleeping through the deed. Now they gonna milk him for money in civil courts...

I don't really care, considering if these woman came forward decades earlier it would've prevented more women from getting raped, and Cosby has lived a pretty full life at this point at 83 years old so justice can't really be served regardless.

While I believe he belongs in prison for what he did, it cannot be at the expense of our constitution. If he wasn't freed then that would be a bad precedent for law enforcement and prosecutors to follow. At that point we all lose the right to due process. Such a slippery slope must be avoided. Hopefully he is prosecuted correctly for things he did to other victims and ends up back in prison.
I agree that he deserves punishment for whay he did but I don't find the way he was freed to be absurd.
It was all a legal sh*tshow where they had promised not to press charges if he confessed so he did but they ended up pressing charges regardless of the deal in place. He used that to overtune the conviction.
I agree because he never should of been convicted due to the previous agreement, at the same time... OJ did not kill his wife as he was never convicted of it.

I agree with the judge that Cosby should not have been charged. A prosecutor promised that he would not be. When a prosecutor promises immunity in exchange for testimony, that has to be binding. Cosby gave up his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination because he was promised that he would not face criminal charges based on his deposition.
The judge did not say that the Cosby was innocent of the charges, only that he was improperly charged.
A friend of mine is a lawyer and finds the whole thing really interesting in the way drivers on the highway take interest in a 47 car pile up that occurred just on the other side of a median... basically, it is all the more interesting if you understand the legal f-ups that lead to his release at this time... and the possibility that it was all intentional that it happened this way from the start... very very bad and messy application of the practice and rule of law.

Apparently, there was a previous prosecutorial agreement in place. Ethically I don't agree. Legally, you have to expect the court to honor these agreements. The problem is that is wasn't in writing, but I think both sides admitted to it. He's still in hell, no matter what his domicile.
I agree with him being freed because the prosecution violated his constitutional right to due process and that is far more important than keeping him in jail because of what he did. Also, at his age, he is unlikely to go out and molest any more women.
As opposed to Derek Chauvin who was fairly convicted of his crimes, Cosby was not fairly convicted of anything.
Hence Cosby is less guilty than Chuavin.
Give Chauvin a longer sentence, and Crosby a fair trail.

The government's conduct is bound by rules because otherwise it has too much power and can railroad anybody. The government chose to break those rules. They knew what they were doing, they knew it broke the rules and they did it anyway. So Cosby should be freed.

Cosby admitted his guilt, but he's still getting freed on a technicality. I guess if he can't get anybody in prison to lick his pudding-pop, he can claim it's 'cruel and unusual punishment'.
The "technicality" consists of the state telling Cosby a lie - "we're not going to prosecute you" - to get him to make incriminating statements, and then using those statements against him in a criminal prosecution. What the state did was wrong. How would you remedy this situation?
When I was in 5th grade, one of my classmates accused me of threatening to shoot up the school under my breath. I didn't say anything like that but I got sent to the principals office anyway. In school suspension. You know what the principal did to me for 5 straight hours? Tried to extract a confession out of me. She didn't care if I did or didn't do what I was accused of, she only wanted to get the paperwork settled so she could move on to other things.
The justice system that is supposed to make sure those who are accused are given a fair trial are too often coerced into making deals even when they are completely innocent. And that's exactly what I think happened to Cosby. He was pressured into signing a deal. He was the victim of something bigger going on. And no I will not automatically believe someone when they say such and such violated me 40 some years ago. If doubt was a stench then my doubt for this whole Cosby thing would be a landfill.

Sounds like an emotional response to the situation - which I understand - but decisions in court should not be made on that basis. There actually is a very compelling reason why he was released, and I have never seen the facts discussed in the MSM until recently.
