Not trying to be funny but it actually does sound like something from a sci-fi film

Covids over. They are just using it to spread fear.

I had virus symptoms at the first outbreak. I treated it with natural substances. I later tested positive. That was 2020!

The death numbers have been driven up by false covid deaths.

It's "omicron" - and yes, it's a Greek letter, which tend to get a lot of use in Star Trek and science (-fiction) in general. For example, there are Star Trek's alpha/beta/gamma/delta quadrants. Star Wars uses Greek letters for imperial fighter wings. There's also the real-world Bayer system of naming stars, whereby they're given a Greek or Latin letter, followed by a number.

To me, 'Omicron' is 15th letter of the Greek alphabet. I heard more of Omicron in sororities and fraternities during my college years. I heard Omicron again when 'The Next Generation' aired and mentioned 'Omicron Theta' as the "birthplace" of Commander Data.

It's Omicron, not Omnicron. The latter is a mispronunciation by our president, pretty much just as egregious as Bush's use of "nucular" rather than "nuclear." Intentionally mispronouncing Omicron has become a running joke, in part because of our clueless politicians, and also because of the WHO skipping Mu, Nu, and Xi in the Greek alphabet for political reasons.

It's OMICRON, not the way you spelled it, and it's the 19th letter in the Greek Alphabet. Some sci-fi shows (Star Trek, for example) had some planets named Omicron-something.
