Or are the Democrats still suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome?

If Timothy McVeigh was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing, why wasn't he already convicted by a year later?
(He was convicted, 26 months after the bombing, and sentenced to death. By a DoJ team including one Merrick Garland.)

as of today we have arrested and charged more than 725 defendants in nearly all 50 states and the district of columbia for their roles in the January 6th attack in charging the perpetrators we have followed well-worn prosecutorial practices those who assaulted officers or damaged the capitol face greater charges those who conspired with others to obstruct the vote count also face greater charges those who did not undertake such conduct have been charged with lesser offenses particularly if they accepted their responsibility early and cooperated with the investigation in the first months of the investigation approximately 145 defendants pled guilty to misdemeanors mostly defendants who did not cause injury or damage such pleas reflect the facts of those cases and the defendant's acceptance of responsibility and they help conserve both judicial and prosecutorial resources so that attention can properly focus on ***the more serious perpetrators*** in complex cases initial charges are often less severe than later charge defenses this is purposeful as investigators methodically collect and sift through more evidence by now though we have charged over 320 defendants with felonies many for assaulting officers and many for corruptly obstructing or attempting to obstruct an official proceeding 20 defendants charged with felonies have already pled guilty approximately 40 defendants have been charged with conspiracy to obstruct a congressional proceeding and or to obstruct law enforcement in the months ahead 17 defendants are already scheduled to go to trial for their role in felony conspiracies a necessary consequence to the prosecutorial approach of charging less serious offenses first is that courts impose shorter sentences before they impose longer ones in recent weeks however as judges have sentenced the first defendants convicted of assaults and related violent conduct against officers we have seen significant sentences that reflect the seriousness of those offenses both in terms of the injuries they caused and the serious risk they posed to our democratic institutions ***the actions we have taken thus far will not be our last*** the justice department remains committed
to holding all January 6 perpetrators ****at any level**** accountable under law whether they were present that day or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy we will follow the facts wherever they lead because January 6 was an unprecedented attack on the seat of our democracy we understand that there is broad public interest in our investigation we understand that there are questions about how long the investigation will take and about what exactly we are doing our answer is and will continue to be the same answer we would give to with respect to any ongoing investigation as long as it takes and whatever it takes for justice to be done consistent with the facts and the law..."
Seriously?
Timothy McVeigh killed over 100 people including dozens of little kids.
Bombing a federal building is a bit more serious than vandalizing the Capitol Building.
Dont'cha think? Or can't you comprehend the difference?
Wow, after 9 days and the indictment of a dozen Oath Keepers for Seditious Conspiracy (see, I was right about Garland), you come back with that pathetic excuse for an argument?
From the human point of view, McVeigh was worse. From the point of view of the country, Jan 6th was worse. They wanted to install a president who'd lost the election.
Bet they walk or plead down to some petty misdemeanor charges.
Garlan is just trying to put on a good Dog and Pony Show. He needs to pander to the leftist base.
As someone else on here has pointed out, he's a member of the right-wing Federalist Society. If they manage to plead down (and isn't that usually done before an indictment?), it will be in exchange for evidence against someone more important. Like Stone, Bannon, Cruz, Gosar, or Trump. You know, the ones who had a different plan to overthrow the election. That plan involved forged documents and a lot of liars in congress.
If that was an "insurrection," then it had to be the dumbest and least effective insurrection in history. Although I 100% agree that it SHOULD have been an insurrection, and armed one, at that. Not because I think Trump rightfully won or just wanted to support him, but because it's FUCKING OBVIOUS there was open election fraud going on! And it should've been bipartisan; both sides should be against election fraud and fucking over the American people like they did on Election Day.
I'm so sick of these fuckwits lying to all our faces, even though "we know they're lying, and they know we know they're lying, yet they keep lying anyway." Seriously, I 100% would've supported a bloodbath on January 6th. And nothing will ever change until those in power learn to fear the people they work for. Like it literally fucking says in the Constitution! And I mean literally. This is what the Founding Fathers of the United States warned us of - open and obvious corruption of democracy and liberty - and nobody seems to care anymore.
I guess that's why I gave up and moved out of the US.
How about this
It was an insurrection by the dumbest of fucks being trumpist and that was the greatest effort they could ever muster. I do think that will ultimately be what history will write about the don. Maybe a footnote about being a wwe superstar if he doesn't fuck up too badly from here on out.
They are prisoners because they are thugs! Nothing to do with politics. Anyone who commits crimes like that are thugs and deserves time inside.
It shows that Trump supporters think that violence can take the place of an election.
The George Floyd riots in 2020 had nothing to do with with Trump.
People were actually murdered doing those riots. Billions of dollars of property damage was down.
The participants were BLM, Antifa and Democrats.
It shows those people will riot in support of a thug who caused his own death.
I don't really know, but that is a good question! #TRUMP2024 #LETSGOBRANDON
You’re only 15. But you’re very smart and I love you for that. 🥺
Not saying I’d have any interest in dating someone underage but it is nice to see younger girls become redpilled
@WhiteBoyChill Aww thanks! You are sweet! 😊I was raised to stand up for what is right, so I am dang well going to! 😬
Honestly yea I feel the same way. Its easier to just be a liberal like the mob but I want to do what feels right even if it’s harder
@WhiteBoyChill You can say that again! I am glad someone on here has their wits about them!
Heil Trump, Heil, mein Führer!

Oath Keepers were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit sedition. You were saying? This question didn't age well. 😂
One Oath Keeper claimed to travel to Washington, DC, for a scouting trip ahead of January 6, according to the indictment. The new court filings also detail accusations that the defendants stashed weapons at a Virginia hotel and that they were prepared to "rapidly transport firearms and other weapons into Washington, D. C." to support the efforts to stop the presidential certification vote.
"[Quick reaction force] teams were prepared to rapidly transport firearms and other weapons into Washington, D. C., in support of operations aimed at using force to stop the lawful transfer of presidential power," the indictment said.
"We aren't going through this without civil war. Too late for that. Prepare your mind, body and spirit," Rhodes allegedly said in a November 5, 2020, Signal message.

@goaded Yes, firearms for just another tourist visit. 😂
And Trump is responsible how?
I never said he was and that wasn't part of your original question which makes your attempt to deflect irrelevant.
So I need to day this up front before I answer because I'm seeing a lot of people call Trump a n*zi and his supporters n*zis... Honestly just stfu. My family was nearly wiped out between n*zis and blackshirts. Some were raped, some were murdered, some were left to die for some B's conquest they wanted no part of. WTF would you people know about fascism? People keep using the word "n*zi". Just gtfo you never knew fascism a day in your ignorant lives. Now as far as this whole thing about the peeps go. The guys shown here were clowns and LARPers and I'd they caused damage or harmed people they should get time for that, fines, and maybe a mental health evaluation. Let's be honest the shaman had a few screws loose.
Well, that's more of the same BS from the same people that brought you the fake Steele dossier so they could illegally spy on an opposing political campaign and the same people who claimed Trump colluded with Russia to get elected (and that he didn't actually win the 2016 election), all nonsensical claims that have been debunked after much waste of taxpayer money. But the nonsensical claims serve the political purposes of the corrupt and criminal Democratic Party.
What they did was by law treason and terrorism. They were armed militias with assassination plans of politicians (that they literally admitted to) with citizenshipin the country they were doing this in, opened fire in a government building, and claimed loudly it was for trump and they were there to kill the Democrats.
How they are being treated is absolutely ridiculous and basically a slap on the wrist. They literally commited a terrorist act in the country they hold citizenship yet they were not called "treasonous" or "terrorists" plus in court they are only getting 10 years in prison. THAT'S INSANE!!
Trump stacked the judiciary like a third world dictator. We have had thirty years of Fox propaganda and lies fed to the low IQ crowd preparing them for this. He has an army of brown shirts (you can read the brown shirts and Russian trolls comments defending his coup attempt here I'm sure) he sent them to attack our capital and try to overthrow our electionsRemember he was Impeached TWICE and was only in office because he was protected by McConnell, Cruze and other Russian assets. .
The big lie was the Russian conspiracy.
Trump had an easy electoral victory in 2016. But Hillary and the Democrats blamed the Russians for her loss. She finally gave her 2016 victory speech a couple weeks back.
Two impeachments?
What a waste of time and money!!! In early 2021, the Democrats were more concerned about impeaching Trump who was no longer in office than stopping the spread of Covid.
Remember the phony Steele Dossier? Hillary's Campaign paid for false info on Trump in an attempt to stop Trump from being elected. Hillary and the rest of her clan should be in prison for that.
Prosecutors will only charge what they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
some of the proud boys will likely be charged with conspiracy, obstruction, and other serious crimes now that one of them flipped. https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/new-york-man-pleads-guilty-conspiracy-and-obstruction-charges-related-jan-6-capitol
But get real. Why did they fight cops to break into the capitol? What was their motive? What was their goal? to stop the certification of joe biden and keep trump as president. If that's not sedition and insurrection, what is it?
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2384
The leader of the oath keepers an nearly a dozen oath keeper members were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit sedition for the Jan 6 insurrection. So there’s the conspiracy to commit sedition charges you were looking for.
Like I said, prosecutors will only charge what they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt, and with the paper trail these morons left, and the testimony of a flipped oath keeper, they’re fucked.
18 US code 2384 - seditious conspiracy
If two or more persons... conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the government of the United States.
“An indictment alleges that after the November 2020 presidential election, Rhodes and others conspired to oppose by force the transfer of presidential power from then-President Donald Trump to Joe Biden, which included plans to breach and try to take control of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.”

Easy answer is, none of them are secret agents of a foreign nation. We Americans copy and pasted such laws from Britain and France. Who happens to have 100s of year long wars were treason was more of a thing.
These are home brewed domestic terrorists. We have yet created a law to define such actions and treason and insurrection is the only verbiage we have avaliable at the moment.
It's Trump Derangement Syndrome There was no insurrection. It was a disorganized riot. A much smaller one than the riots the Democrats spent the summer of 2020 cheering on.
Riots are not armed militias with assassination plans of government politicians
There's been no evidence I'm aware of that any of them were armed. There was only one person shot and that was one of the rioters. There were no assassination attempts either. Just selfies on people's desks, etc. To be better understood, I probably should have used terms liberals use when describing rioters vandalizing and destroying public property... "Mostly peaceful protest".
"Before and after the storming of the Capitol, NBC News reported, police seized a dozen firearms, including an assault rifle, and thousands of rounds of ammunition from seven people attending the rally for President Donald Trump in Washington, D. C. Other weapons included a crossbow, a stun gun and 11 Molotov cocktails."

Now you're aware.
First off, I can’t believe you even would question that, which automatically makes you an insurrectionist. Secondly, you didn’t give a trigger warning and I go into fits and I become enraged whenever I see those numbers 1 or 6. So you’ve caused emotional damage to me probably permanently. And thirdly, trust the science. Therefore, insurrection.
That’s 3 reasons. What more proof do you need?
The cure rate for TDS seems to persistently remain very low.
It's not easy to be convicted of sedition or treason in America based on definition.
Here's a good answer as to why

Calling 6 Jan 2021 an insurrection is a stretch, and done for the shock effect. If it was truly an insurrection, it failed miserably. It was actually a mostly peaceful protest that a minority caused to get out of hand.
I was not an insurrection and if there was a trial everything will have to come out, all the videos which they are stonewalling and the testimony from that fed that was outside trying to incite a riot.
Nobody has YET been charged with insurrection. ftfy
"17 defendants are already scheduled to go to trial for their role in felony conspiracies. A necessary consequence to the prosecutorial approach of charging less serious offenses first is that courts impose shorter sentences before they impose longer ones. In recent weeks however as judges have sentenced the first defendants convicted of assaults and related violent conduct against officers we have seen significant sentences that reflect the seriousness of those offenses both in terms of the injuries they caused and the serious risk they posed to our democratic institutions. ***The actions we have taken thus far will not be our last.*** The justice department remains committed to holding all January 6 perpetrators ****at any level**** accountable under law whether they were present that day or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy."

Merick Garland is a member of the right wing federalist society and is thus unlikely to seriously prosecute his own people.
Anyway, don't act like if there suddenly were treason charges the right wouldn't just call it a witch hunt.
Insurrection and treason are more a title than a legal code. And probably easier to prosecute breaking and entering, beating cops half to death.
The infamous FBI spies weren’t convicted of “treason”. They were convicted of espionage and tax evasion.
Just wait. Those trials haven’t occurred yet. Some people have received significant time for assaulting officers.
Assaulting cops is not insurrection or treason.
I don’t get how you can possibly commit an insurrection if you are unarmed. I don’t think that was the purpose.
There was no insurrection. It was a protest that got a little out of hand. President DeSantis will pardon most or all of them
Because the law is insufficient for that? Here in the Netherlands, preventing the decision-making of anyone in the parliament, senate or cabinet in itself counts as insurrection and lands you 30 years to life in jail.
If this exact same thing happened here, a lot of people would have been convicted of insurrection. But I guess the legal definitions or whatever are different in the USA
I was a little disappointed it didn't turn out to be one of those 'fiery but mostly peaceful' protests.
