Here is the rub with the Ukraine... the Ukraine was never ever truly a independent and Sovereign Country. Basically since the 1500s if not further back it was a bunch of independent kingdoms that we vassal states to other "countries"... from the Ottomans to Czechs, Poland, Russia and Roman etc... By 1775 the Russia through a series wars with the Ottomans and other faction annexed all the territory of what we now consider to be modern day Ukraine as part to the Russia Empire. After the Communist Revolt between 1916 to 1922 there a period of autonomous... but again in 1922 it became the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, which was honestly a more or less a Soviet State and not Independent Country. In 1992 Ukraine did gain antimony as independent and sovereign state but it also joined the Russia Federation and Russia gave it Crimea under the condition that it would never join NATO and remain within the Russia Federation. But that all changed in 2014, so since then Russia has consider it a rebellious state.

Now this may sound shady... but Ukraine made treaties and deal with Russia and then more or less broke them and Russia wants to enforce the treaties that were made and it it kind of has the right to do that.

But of course it only really wants to do that now because Russia feels it has rebuilt its strength and military might... and Putin wants to reestablish the old Soviet block power and influence which is something nobody in NATO wants to see. I grew up in the 1980s and we definitely don't want to those days to come back round. So now we either confront and deal with it this now through military might if necessary or we all better buckle up for the return of the old style Iron Current days to come back round.

Well I hope people of Ukraine knew that was going to happen Putin was not going to back down he would look like a puss in front of the whole world and he was not going to do that he had to make a statement he had to make it big and hopefully he'll stop now but it also depends on the United Nations on any tops that happen because if they say the wrong word Putin is like a bully he's going to try to take one more swing and if we allow it to happen he's going to do it again I think he had to prove his point that is not a puss any means business he had to do something even though it is wrong totally uncalled for in a roundabout way people have to understand what this is really all about it's about Russian people that are over there in Ukraine he's trying to protect them that's his excuse anyway also Ukraine in the past has been a very evil country the things that they have done and I can't believe or wait a minute I take that back I do believe why America is doing what you're doing because it is greed it's so we can put nuclear weapons on their border aims towards Russia what happens when we do that and Russia comes in it takes over this nuclear weapons and pointing towards America because that's what will happen

I don't get the feeling Putin has intentions of stopping with Ukraine. I also hate the fact that he threatened the US and NATO, basically with nuclear power. Unfortunately; if he begins to encroach on NATO territory; then we have to go to WAR. We don't have a choice. We also don't want this guy becoming Hitler 2.0 and attempting to invade all over Europe. He seems pretty freaking crazy. Trump was crazy too; and Putin definitely feared the crazy more than the old sleepy puppy dog that is Joe Biden.

Basically I think Putin has bad intentions. That motherfucker never reveals what he wants, he has been playing mind games with all the peace talks and meetings by US, UK, China, France and NATO allies.

I think what Putin wants can be dates back to history when Ukraine pulled out and became and independent country Now Putin wants to claim them back and that is the reason he doesn't want Ukraine to be a member of NATO. He wants to have sovereign power over Ukraine.

Ukraine has an intention of joining NATO but Russia doesn't want that.

I fear for Ukraine though because eventually if this doesn't stop Ukraine will be nothing but dust at the end why because the Russians are targeting Ukraine in Ukraine, the US will be targeting Russian army in Ukraine, Nukes will be tested in Ukraine.

Ohh my poor Ukraine.

I just think of all the right wingers (and some left wingers) who said I was overreacting in my hostility to Putin being so eager to get trump elected and the 8 years of misinformation that tried to justify it as anything other than exactly what it has now turned out to be. I always started off all political conversations with the assumption that Putin is an enemy, and all is easily explained from there, but so many people disagreed with that first step thus derailing the entire conversation. Would be cool to go back to each of them and really grind their nose in it, but not that cool. I'd have much preferred to be wrong.

My thoughts: I have a good opinion about Putin; but to return to last century's errors disappoints me somehow. And it takes me by surprise - I did not expect it.
What these people over there do to each other is not my business though; it takes TWO to have a fight. It's not mine, and so I take no position.
What also disappoints me: the money market parasites once again take advantage and exploit the incident for their gambling schemes - I did expect THAT.

Interestingly, the ''world'' now feels obliged to be concerned.
Are they concerned when killing goes on in African countries or Myanmar?

I stand with Russia. Nato has promissed not to spread to the East 20 years when it had 17 members. Now there are 30 members, since they did actually spread to the West, and now they want Ukraine? This is basically invasion. Russia is defending itself. Biden is a complete retard, but I'm not surprised, considering what the average American leftist believes.
