Ohio GOP passes bill aiming to root out 'suspected' transgender female athletes through genital inspection

House Republican lawmakers in Ohio passed a bill at 11:15 p. m. Wednesday night that would ban transgender girls and women from participating in high school and college athletics. It also comes with a "verification process" of checking the genitals of those "accused" of being trans.

Finally got Sub HB 151, which includes Ohio's "Save Women's Sports Act." This passed close to midnight.

Section C has the verification process if accused of being trans.

Soooo if you are suspected of being trans they will violate your privacy and body to check your genitals... I'm having flashbacks of that Larry Nassar guy...

First, this is nothing new, the Olympics require a gynecologist to examine all female athletes, and have done since the mid seventies to early eighties, when female Soviet block athletes began looking more and more masculine, and rumors of men posing as women were rife! As a female athlete, I absolutely empathize with female athletes who are loosing their ability to complete in their chosen sport because failed male athletes suddenly realize that they are transgender and absolutely DOMINATE the sport in which they “compete” and I use quotation marks because this is NOT competitive, not at all! In sports, records used to stand for YEARS… Now we are seeing “female” sporting world records being beaten in the following event. Records used to be beaten by thousandths of a second. Now when trans-athletes are competing, Olympic world records are be destroyed by high school students, by 5, 10, or even 30 seconds. (Obvs depending on the event) Title IX was established to allow young women to not just participate in sports, but compete! This right was protected at the federal level, by Title IX for almost 50 years. Now what we are seeing is a complete reversal of those 50 years of protecting women’s sports. I find it odd that we don’t see this in my sport of gymnastics, and that was THE sport where Larry Nasser sexually abused so many children. Hmmm… could that be because male and female gymnasts do completely different events, and a trans-gymnast could NOT simply say “I'm a girl now” and compete the following season? They would have to spend YEARS learning and perfecting their events? Not to mention, that women have a lower center of gravity, and events like the balance beam would be near impossible for a male to compete at the competition levels of the sport? But if a state requires a gynecological exam, especially given the Nasser controversy, you can bet that it would be a female gynecologist, and there would always be at LEAST a female RN in the exam room, and likely a female representative of the governing board for that sport. As a former competition level athlete, I would have NO problem whatsoever undergoing a medical exam by a gynecologist, if that meant that I KNEW that I would NOT be competing against women who went through MALE puberty, and I doubt very many female athletes in any sport would disagree!

Born & raised in Ohio, still live there too, but absolutely this will lead to sexual abuse cases that will now go nowhere because of this law. Internal & external exams? I'm disgusted!

Yeah, not many responses to this post. You see, that freedom of speech thing is only for when you are trying post on a privately own social network. When it comes to women's bodies, well. . . you can just grab and grope. Everyone at GaG is fine with that.
