Is the US government doing ANYTHING about Fentanyl?

We know the US government is doing nothing about the border and little about human trafficking but what are they doing about Fentanyl which is killing close to 100,000 Americans a year?

It’s a sad situation that like so many major issues that are just ignored. They just don’t care at all.

They are, but its not nearly enough. It isn't like the border patrol can do a lot to stop it when its so much money for the cartels to sneak in.

Plus Democrats love open border policies.

Doing something about this, doesn't fit the agenda of controlling people. It is far easy to whine about a few occasional mass shootings and wanting to control everyone and take away rights than simply close the border.

I would bet that if they could control people with this, they would.

Now Fentanyl does have its purpose if prescribed by a doctor for someone who is terminal anyways, but not for recreational use.

They are okay with these deaths though cause they claim they are about freedom and generally want to legalize all illegal drugs, regardless of how dangerous they are.

No. The proof is the vast numbers of wasted lives, 100,000 dead a year and many more that are walking zombies. All the death and harm to families is staggering. And nothing is being done, there isn’t any great push to fight back. The politicians don’t have time for such little people problems.

I think the government should treat the drug gangs of Latin America as terrorists. Our attack subs should hunt and sink their drug subs. Our jets and drones should bomb their manufacture sites and homes of the drug lords. Raids should happen. Ships from China should be searched before getting to Latin America. China should shut down the production or suffer economic consequences. A new federal prison like a POW camp should be built on the prairies to house thousands of drug dealers who have mandatory 25 year sentences. Do this and it will stop for the most part.

The first step to combating the fentanyl problem in USA would be to enact medical regulation because the biggest enabler of this is not drugs flowing over the border but your crappy healthcare system getting people addicted to opiods by over prescribing them when they are not needed simply because pharmacy companies can make a bigger profit.

Curb the medical problem, curb the addiction, remove the customer base for the smugglers and boom goes the whole industry. Capiche?

They have found some but just look at the number of dead. Then look at the walking dead zombies in major cities. There is no concerted major government program to stop the flow of fentanyl. So many dead people, it’s amazing they still get new clients to make up for the loss of clients through death… so it continues.

I am against people doing drugs and especially dying from them. But as far as I can tell, drug use has been a problem for a long, long time. Wasn't there a "just say no" campaign in the 80s? And weren't people nervous about hippies in the 60s doing bad acid at Woodstock? Yet the dumb kept doing them. People know the risks. I see warnings on TV and online constantly. I mean if you are dumb enough to trust that a dealer peddling a street drug is safe and healthy, then maybe getting you out of the gene pool is a good thing?
