***********I would Travel back to Egypt. lol!!! xxoo
Sure. Mexico is huge and as varied as the U. S. Not all of it is controlled by drug cartels.
My friends and I used to go to Tijuana and Ensenada when I was in my teens.
One of my girlfriends in high school's parents had a trailer on Rosarita beach and the two of us went down there together sometimes. She spoke fluent Spanish because of all the time she had spent there. She also knew locals.
Over the past 15 years, my wife and I have visited the Maya Riviera and, later, San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato. In those two cities, we took buses, taxis and walked all around without any problems.
What's funny is, Europeans and particularly people from Britain and Commonwealth countries have the same impression of the U. S. as some Americans do of Mexico. Their views are formed by media.
It just depends on where you go in those countries. Avoid bad areas, especially at night, and keep to populated areas.
By the way, my parents were afraid of Mexico. There have always been scare stories about it in American press.
But there used to be a lot of cross border travel before the borders were closed. And the beaches and resorts have always been some of the best in the world.
Lots of people still travel there for dental and medical treatment.
While living in San Diego, going to party in Mexico was like a normal thing for me. I would avoid certain situations and places though.
Also probably why I make a practice of pretending I'm poor as dirt. You don't want to make yourself into a target. I don't care where you are. Like, I have no sympathy for a guy that hates gold diggers, but then tries to attract chicks with his wealth. Just hit the gym and pretend you're broke. Make every hooker think she is ripping you off and should be paying you for the sex.
Heck no, already had a friend get kidnapped in the US and taken to Mexico to be trained to be a sex slave human trafficking victim then brought back to the US to be in forced sex slavery, aka human trafficking.
Why would I want to go there and basically say, hey take me?
That said I do have relatives in certain parts that I feel safe going to their area's but never in small groups and I could never go solo.
When the banks all over the place have armed soldiers guarding them, I'll just stay in the states.
Never would I go back to Egypt. I'd rather go to Mexico. Its not that bad just be smart and don't go out late at night. The media focuses way too much on the bad. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but the media can be cruel sometimes

I was in Mexico in December, and felt perfectly safe. Like any country, there are safe places, and unsafe places. The entire country of Mexico is not a danger zone.
I would not of before all this, as it has always happen just getting more publicity now. I don't have any desire to become a sex slave for the cartel.
I'm smart enough to would never have traveled to Mexico before let alone now.
I feel bad for these people. But if you leave the United States I think people need to understand you are ALSO leaving the United State's protection. I don't think enough people think that through.
Sounds like the wild west... I'll pass
I'd avoid impoverished areas. We take risks though and hope for the best... not going to win a gun fight with machine gun murderers.
Mexico is already here. It showed up in my home
No, Paris, I don't need to travel to Mexico, because Mexico has traveled to us.
I find that not getting mixed up in the drug trade greatly reduces my chance of getting murdered.
@RealMarek
@Paris13
Human Sex Trafficking is bad too
@RealMarek I have personal experience
From what I've seen, there's no one there LEFT to murder!! They've lost at least 82% of their population since that fucking idiot in the White House opened the borders!!
Sure. I go there all the time. Less dangerous than most of the US.
I lived in Mexico City for 2 years and traveled all over Mexico. I would not hesitate to do that again because I know how to get around and how to get along in that country. Conversely, I would not travel to many of the small towns in central California and in the agricultural areas because I know how dangerous they really are. Being in the US does not guarantee your safety and being in Mexico does not mean you're in a danger area at all.
I would go anywhere.
i grew up in “dangerous” neighborhoods.
It really depends where you go because if you just visit in the resorts and stay there then you’re fine but once you go outside of the tourist area, then you’re in big trouble it seems
It would be no different then going to Chicago, New York or LA
I wouldn’t go there if I’m going with family and loved ones, alone yes I don’t care i always wanted to say “say hello to my little friend” lol
I would like to visit Mexico one day. But honestly, no place on Earth is 100% safe.
I have no interest in going to Mexico other than drinking Topo Chico at the source.
Mexico is the definition of a shithole country. I wouldn't go near it. Why do you think the Mexicans are trying to leave?
No Paris because the Mexican Cartel rules down there, I’m afraid to ever go back there
@belle_kai yes, I was a victim
I have lost nothing in Mexico. If the Mexicans are fleeing there, why would anyone want to go there?
Why not? Pretty much every country has murders. Mexico is a big country.
I never had a desire to go to Mexico before all the murders and kidnapping
we should build a great big electrified wall!
We should put the 30,000 troops we have stationed in South Korea, protecting their border, on our border.
If you aren’t involved in the drug trade, you should be fine. The people that were kidnapped weren’t innocent.
Sure I would just came from Cancun a few months ago
Fuck no and my girlfriend is a Mexican national
I wouldn't even travel there "before".
50+ years ago, when staying in San Diego, my parents and I took a day trip to Tijuana. That was enough for me.
Yes, one just has to be careful
Why take a chance with my life?
@belle_kai I have spent one day in Cozumel about 15 years ago.
@belle_kai And if I hear that Mexico is not safe for Americans to visit, I'm supposed to take a chance and go visit to see whether that warnng is true? And if it is true. . . too bad for me, better luck next time?
@belle_kai Why not?
@belle_kai Everyone knows that Mexico has a beautiful culture with great historic sites and delicious food. That's not the issue. The crime is the issue.
@belle_kai I'm sure it's a beautiful country and that there are parts which are very safe. But as a forigner who does not even speak Spanish, how am I supposed to know what's safe and what isn't?
I was going to last year
Yeah I was there in February
Yes I will because it differs from place to another
I don't think I would go to Mexico anytime soon.
Absolutely not!
agreed with @menina
Yes, but you should stay near the resort.
It's probably safer in Afghanistan.
Yup. I'll go to mexico any day. Esp over Egypt.
Until the smoke clears
I never wanted to, anyway.
No thanks. Mexico ks a failed State.
Sure just don’t leave the resorts
There is nothing in Mexico for me.
Yes. Love mexica women.
Mexico is a pit, just like Egypt.
Hell to the no!
And I say that as someone who LOVES México! It has always been my dream to travel there.
Nope
