+1 yIt is really sad and worrying that school shootings continue to happen so frequently in many countries around the world.
Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this question, as gun violence is a complex issue that involves many factors, including gun availability, mental health, access to healthcare, culture of violence, and safety. in the schools.
What we can do, however, is work together to address these issues and find effective and sustainable solutions.
This could include:
Implement stronger security measures at schools, such as security checks, surveillance cameras, and emergency response protocols.
Improve early detection and treatment of mental health problems in students and in the community in general.
Establish stricter laws and policies on gun ownership, including background checks and a ban on certain types of weapons.
Promote a culture of respect and tolerance, as well as dialogue and understanding between people of different origins and points of view.
Ultimately, we all have a responsibility to work together to prevent violence and create safer, more peaceful communities.

actually it's not happening frequently around the world. if usa had as many shootings as germany (accounting for population difference), you'd have had like 8 shootings in the last 10 years. but of course the NRA is gonna keep arguing gun regulations and restrictions on ownership have nothing to do with it xD
- +1 y
Your solution to school shootings is to establish a create a prison to function as a learning house?
Also kids who resort to gun violence are not going to legally obtain firearms, so increasing mental checks is fruitless. Case in point the Columbine shooters bought their guns at a trade show and privately off a pizza delivery guy.
Teaching kids more emotional intelligence may help, but as for the multicultural perspectives, kids already have a ton of that from MLK, Mandela, Ghandi, even books like Of Mice and Men.

I donāt know Iām a U. S. expat to the Netherlands there has never been a school shooting here and I feel very safe on campus. People here arenāt more responsible or anything. Petty crimes happen a lot and robberies still happen but basically nobody here owns guns. They are hard to get and super well regulated. If the US implemented the same measures the shootings would go down. Even the APA and CDC recommend him control because they know the evidence shows that it works but people feel so emotional about their guns for no reason

It will end when society stops creating the shooters and people will focus on the source of the problem, not a item used to harm others.
No one really talks about preventing this any way except attacking the guns and rights already affirmed by the supreme court.
Why do people continue to make lone wolves, drive people to not have any friends and then act surprised when someone goes nuts?
How many of you can say that you were nice, friendly and tried to become friends with someone so they would not be a loner?
79 Reply- +1 y
Weāve all been bullied. Weāve all had our moments where we felt alone or like an outcast in school.
Thatās not the sole reason why these kids shoot up a school and you know it lol. Itās beyond them just being lonely, they clearly have psychopathic tendencies to begin with, hence why they had trouble making friends in the first place.
Even if they did have friends, they probably would of ended up killing someone eventually anyways
But yes letās find a way to blame the other students for it.. - +1 y
@JustinTheGreat How many mass shootings happened pre-social media days?
Even so it is not a gun problem it is a society problem, one way or the other. No one wakes up one day and decided to go on a shooting rampage, it took a long time for them to get to that point. - +1 y
@alessa13 TBH part of the problem is unrealistic answers like this. There's always going to be lone Wolves and people who struggle to make friends. Regulating who, and how weapons are used is the most logical way to reduce mass shooting however that challenges capitalistic beliefs in America. Reality is its unlikely that Mass shooting will ever stop in a country like America. What country is second in mass shootings?
- +1 y
@JustinTheGreat are you familiar with the rat city experiments on hard drugs? Isolation drives the degradation of the mental states.
The experiment found that when isolated drug-addicted rats were given a community they would actively avoid the drug infused water.
It's probably the same with people. - +1 y
@Vegasrunner It is more realistic to solve the society problem, than it is to try and solve it by focusing on guns. That is never going to happen, nor should it.
Figure out the problem without more gun laws, otherwise we simply accept shootings as part of freedom and life. - +1 y
@alessa13 It's not, and that's part of the issue. You'll never limit the world of all phyco's and wasting time trying to do that only puts more lives at risk. At this point the data is already out, and there seems to be only two choices. Restrict the use of deadly weapons designed for warfare, or continue to have the same circular discussion about mass shootings. Reality I most people don't care so they're willing spew rhetoric like yours. The other thing that would help is prosecuting the families of mass shooters to at least make them think about the consequences of their actions. Contact me in a couple days when the next one occurs.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner I'm completely okay changing nothing, let people talk and do nothing. Let them keep happening, I don't see a problem with that.
If you want to change gun laws, I say lets remove restrictions cut down 80% of them and then strongly enforce the rest.
The only person responsbile for killing others is the person who pulls the trigger, no one else.
I don't need to contact you, I despise liberals like you. We will not be having another conversation EVER again. Have a nice deluded life thinking of ways to take away rights and freedoms. - +1 y
Mental health issues and social media doesnāt only exist in the US though⦠so that still doesnāt explain why it happens in this country way more than the rest of the world.
Of course even if we did make access to guns harder, then yes people would still find another way or find a way to get guns illegally. But why make it easier to gain the tools to do so?
Or at least certain guns shouldnāt be available. There shouldnāt be any reason for a person to own an assault rifle with 40 rounds in itā¦

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI have relative who was a victim in a school shooting this year. He is still alive but in critical condition. So this hits hard for me.
I will say this though. There is no way to āendā gun violence in a country with over 340 million people that already had 300+ guns in circulation.
Naive idiots got to stop comparing the USA to Iceland or such nonsense. Iceland has a very homogenous population of 300k people and doesnāt have Mexico south of the border. England might have very strict gun laws but they have other major problems (knife violence and stabbings) They never had as many guns in circulation as the USA does
There is nor ever will be any simple answer to how to prevent these shootings. Any time any idiot politician immediately reacts and points to a singular cause (gun ownership) you are only exasperating the problem. The solution to prevent these shootings is going to be multi faceted, complex and will require people to do things they normally donāt want to (be friendly and nicer to weirdos).

There are twice as many fatal falls and twice as many accidental poisonings. Why aren't people asking when they will end?
Why aren't people asking when accidental hospital fatalities or fatal pharmaceutical deaths will end?
When will drug overdoses end?
It's unrealistic to expect deaths to end. So why are people only hysterical over firearm homicides?
Firearm homicides rose from around 16,000 for several years to 20,000 since the covid lockdowns began in 2020. 20,000 out of 330,000,000 citizens and 450,000,000 people in the country at any one time? 20,000 out of almost 2,900,000 total deaths each year from all causes? When you fix your society. If you go around spreading fear and uncertainty, don't have any security unless you manage to build it yourself. So either start removing the guns which will take ages or look at countries like Switzerland. They have weapons but also a healthy view and requirements around them. Trying tconvert to their views, which also take ages and is far harder to do if the people doesn't share that goal. So work towards becoming more European, we have managed to keep it at a minimum.

+1 yI really think a person has to be so fucked up to decide to kill people, including those who never did them any harm, with whatever tools they have. And if they're at that stage, they'll probably succeed whether they have underground nail bombs or rifles and handguns from Wal-Mart.
So I really think the people obsessing about guns here aren't really getting to the root issue. How are kids getting this fucked up? I don't have the answer to the question. I just think this is the better question than the one that says, "No guns and kids will stop being fucked up."
02 Reply- +1 y
I think blaming it on the tools like guns give us some sense of comfort. But here in Japan gun restriction is extremely tight, and when you find someone that fucked up, they still cut their mother's heads off, still mow people over in Akihabara with a truck, and you get dead bodies left and right. It's rarer here in Japan because most fucked up Japanese people commit suicide rather than go on killing sprees. I think our cultural values sees more honor in taking your own life than the lives of others when your chips are down. Americans and Western people are more outward -- they seem to be more inclined to hurt other people when their chips are down, lash out, rather than just quietly committing suicide like a decent and honorable person.
- +1 y
From cultural aspect also I notice in the West that people who just commit suicide rather than going on killing sprees first and killing themselves in the process leave suicide notes. Because that culture seems to focus on people sending some sort of message. So even suicidal people feel the need to leave notes even if they don't kill people through their message. There's such a focus on sending a "message" that I think might be a problem.
+1 yIt won't. Why do you think it is going to end? Seriously, rational question. There are millions and millions of guns in the world, millions of knives, bats, cats, things to make explosives, people have been killing each other and committing atrocities since the dawn of time. Every time you turn on the news some horrific atrocity is occurring. Even if it isn't sensational there are daily shootings and murders in the inner cities, they just aren't big "news" stories. People are getting more and more deranged and twisted and messed up and there are more and more broken families.
Things will get WORSE!!!
You honestly expect these events to END? How in the world is that going to happen?
00 ReplyIt will not end anytime soon. There are numerous causes, even the fact that to the limited extent American children are educated, most are indoctrinated into nihilistic ideologies. Raising large numbers of people with the sense that life has no fundamental meaning is dangerous. Our elites despise the common people in America, impose declining living standards on them, and care for nothing but their global hegemony. To them, America is just part of the empire. They have caused millions of deaths abroad in this pursuit? Do you think they bat an eyelash over a handful of deaths here? If you want to solve the problem, a good start would be to clear them out.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI don't know when it will end. But one thing is certain, it will not end until we address the actual problem rather than focusing on the symptoms and arguing about how to treat them. And THAT will never happen until we have an honest discussing about the real problem and its cause, and no one seems willing to do that.
More gun control laws will not prevent these shootings. Outlawing certain types of guns will just mean shooters will use other types of guns to do the same thing, or more likely, continue to use the outlawed guns because they will still be available. We can't keep immigrants or drugs from crossing our boarders illegally. What makes anyone think we'll be able to keep guns out?
But regardless, even if we could get rid of all guns in the US, these sick individuals will still find ways to kill people, because the problems motivating them still will not have been addressed, or even acknowledged.

This won't stop because we have people actively working to convince others that there is no hope for them when they are different or have a problem. @JHND98 ā actually Iāve read the entire thing many times and have studied the history of the whole thing. The drafters explaining their reasoning for the amendment does not invalidate the amendment.
