With these school shooters, they need to catch these scum alive and torture them every day for the rest of their lives!! And when they do die, throw them in the garbage!! Burying them is to good for them!! And maybe the next scum will think before they shoot somebody!! What do you think?
And after doing all of that.. What did you accomplish? You are not going to discourage the next school shooter, I hope you know that right? If anything, this might even motivate some of them who want to become notorious.
Most people, like yourself, have the kneejerk reaction of hurting criminals back as some form of justice but aside from making you feel better about yourself, it does not actually improve the situation at all. People have tried various versions of what you proposed throughout human history, and it has never worked even once. We know what works to limit crime, its a mixture of preventative social and economic work combined with rehabilitation in prisons. Things people find appalling since they can't stand the mental image of a child rapist or a mass shooter enjoying his day in jail by playing xbox or whatever even though this is far more productive than torturing them.
That will never happen if they don't surrender. I'm telling you right now from personal experience (army not police) that shooting to disarm is not an option when rapidly clearing rooms and halls, especially in regards to a school.
Putting the shooter down and shooting her again was the right call.

look- all of these shooters are marginalized in some way. Some had been bullied, the one on Monday was a transexual. There was the whacko whose mother bought him the gun. They are alone and have no voice in the world so they have to shoot up a school to get some attention.
So your for attacking the symptoms and not the disease you do understand countries like Japan only have around 10 firearm deaths a year right so clearly if you're in the states our death count could be lower and this would not be a weekly thing
We left that Dark Ages nonsense behind centuries ago, and for good reason; we even have a Constitutional amendment specifically prohibiting it.
Sure but also limit their access to guns beforehand.
