IF Trump is found guilty and placed in jail, is the GOP still obligated to make him their candidate?

We know he can still run for President within prison but, is the GOP still REQUIRED to place him as their candidate?

And, if elected while still serving time, will he be required to relinquish his duties to the Vice President?

Pretty sure that the GOP is not obligated to do anything. Political parties are not an official part of USAs politics but rather a private organized addition. Who is or is not endorsed as their candidates is an internal matter and not enforced by law.
