Does RISING SEA LEVEL concern you?

Question

Due to Climate Change, some scientists are predicting a rise in average sea level of up to 30 feet (10 meters) in the next 100 years, which puts major cities along coastlines at risk of being flooded, as shown in the global map, as well as people living near the coast being forced to move inland. Some island nations (Maldives, for example) may disappear altogether.

Does this concern you?

If you live near the coast, will you move before the sea floods your home?

If you live inland, do you care about the coastal residents who will be displaced and likely move to where to live?

first "real science is observed" not future predictions [nor history before people observed].

2, anybody can make a meme! and that meme does not even say sea level is __ inches higher.

3, the moon can cause temporary higher tide but that is not a constant sea level.

if you believe global warming that should comfort your "alarms and concerns" because warm air can hold more humidity!

4 last but not least the same politicians making a fuss about global warming "crisis" and carbon dioxide and carbon foot prints, show in action they know they are saying lies by buying beach front property... you would not buy something you knew was truly doomed to sink and drown! showing huge carbon footprints themselves... exposing that this whole thing is an artificial "feel good religion".

people wanna feel good and that tempts to religion to obey whatever religious rules so liberals invented a new religion without god with rules so people feel like they are obedient!

problem is the rules of carbon footprint and recycling and which word you let people say... are not important nor are obeying god.

Since they've been predicting it for 50 years already I'm not really worried. Floating ice takes up more space than water, so if it melts sea levels will drop. There's not enough ice inland to displace all the sea levels if all the ice melted. The underground aquifers would refill completely before it all hit the oceans anyway, plus warmer air holds more water vapour in it than cooler air can.

I'm more concerned that the morons spouting about it are the same "advisors" who think CO² is bad for the planet when if it drops much lower all plant life on earth would die. Anyone who did highschool biology past age 15 should know that. CO² and chlorophyll are essential for photosynthesis, which lets plants absorb carbon and release oxygen.

There is a village near me (fairbourne) here that's close to being lost to the sea and the government has decided to let it go much to the dismay of residents. There'll always be protection for cities but little places like this will be doomed

The other place that springs to mind is Laugharne where on a spring tide the main carpark floods and under the right conditions it can reach the main road, shops and houses. Despite the big sign people do get caught out.

Looking at various doomsday maps of the UK as a whole its mostly east anglia, England that gets hit the worst. A lot of land here is low and flat and was once salt marsh before it was drained.

But does it concern me? Nah, I quite like the sea and a bit of salt marsh grazing on my farm would be good for my bank account.

No, it doesn't concern me. Should it? "Scientists" (a. k. a. the new priesthood) have been "predicting" all sorts of disasters that never came true, since the time of Malthus and his fear-mongering prognostications about over-population.

I'm not too worried about it. Climate has changed and sea levels have risen and fallen throughout Earth's history. It is what it is.
It is hubris to think we can control the climate like a thermostat. Humans are such idiots.

I do not buy the notion that man-made CO2 is making the Earth unlivable. The Earth loves CO2. Without it, all life dies.

It's insane that a few hundred narcissistic technocrats fly around in private jets, live the most lavish lifestyles, and meet to discuss how to control the commoner's use of energy.

And then there are the various weather modifications schemes that are most certainly far worse that the Earth's natural processes. Sure, fill the sky with aluminum, sulfur, barium and other compounds to "modify" the weather and blot out the sun. What could go wrong?

Yes it does, and it should concern us all. Global warming is real, whether or not people want to accept that or not. Rising sea levels that can reach over 10 feet, will impact the coastal states. Californians should be worried about where they lived and I'm sure many are. I've seen areas where homes in California along the coast, are losing the earth around the homes from sea erosion. Their homes are on the edges of earth and will most likely fall into the ocean.

Famous people like Bill Gates are still buying beachfront real estate for big bucks. He talks about climate change and buys beachfront, I don’t get it. Many others as well like the Obamas and more. Plus they fly private jets, have multiple homes that need heating and cooling, SUVs and create a lot more trash than the average person.

If I still lived two blocks from the Pacific Ocean in San Francisco I would be very worried.

But I like pretty much Inland, not near the beach.

I was always afraid we would have a tidal wave. 🌊 My mom used to scare me saying that all the time. Gave me nightmares.

no. and it's not a question i'd be concerned about. there is no basis for your concern.

i suppose i need more info on the situation you haven't described. the only instance of sea levels rising is when the moon is closer to the earth than it usually is. and that's not a sea level rise, it's a higher high tide. if anything, i'd be concerned about sea levels dropping with so many places in drought. we could harvest the seawater for freshwater

Insofar as this part of Florida was due to be under ten feet of water by 2005, no- not the way it's screeched about, at least. The idea concerns me, for obvious reasons, but they've been crying wolf for so long that it's increasingly hard to take seriously.

The sun will make its Great year (Re-evolution) after a period of 26000 years

meaning the rotation will shift from us and focus on the previously ICED Lands

we on the other hand , will experience an ICE AGE the sun won't comeback until after it finishes its great years again

But as it's a part of climatic changes (provoked, or not) I see the challenge to adjust stuff in time :)

Some places may go missing soon (enough) - we won't really miss them, though.
