Question

There’s 53 degree celsius in Sicily, Europe is struggling with the heat waves,

Georgia, which was always perfectly balanced with climate, is freezing cold in summer now. There was a snow month ago in Caucasia.

China is different from what I remembered 3 years ago, the heat is unbearable and the constant rains cause floods every night, thanks to the great system, it’s gone after a few hours, but nothing seems to be the way it was 4-5 years ago.

What the hell have we done to our planet?

Don’t you notice it?

2 years ago, I visited a village of my grandparents to swim in the river where my great grandpa used to take us in childhood about 15 years ago, the water was so high you could easily get drowned.

When I visited 2 years ago the river was just gone.

Don’t you think this way, we’ll barely survive to reach the old age and our children will have it even harder?

I thought I was the only one worried about this. Yes, I am deeply concerned. I was reading an article the other day about the polar ice caps, and in just 10 years, half the ice melted. There were pictures that also showed how much was gone. I have an interest in science, and I read a lot of books in chemistry, physics, astronomy, and geology. Earth science fascinates me.

Global warming is not a myth like a lot of these politicians are trying to get people to believe. It is VERY well real. The sun's carbon is a lot more intense than it used to be, so it's killing a lot of ocean life and effecting the weather. It's sad that not more people are concerned about this.

The heat is so bad around here, the trees north of me catch fire occasionally, well upstate anyway. At least you care enough. It's really sad that not many others do. Our earth is getting worse, and we need to protect it. If I had the resources, I would save every single forest, field, the ocean, and every single country. Our planet provides what we need, and if people aren't destroying it, natural disasters care causing problems. There are ways we can save the planet though. If 5%, just 5% of the population care enough to take care of the planet, it may just survive. I wish there was more I could do. I would save every part of it.

In my best opinion this ain't caused by human contributions like other GAG members are saying. Climate change wise has been involving for centuries which isn't new.

Like for example why here in Canada where am from Toronto. Winters have been mild for years, only in the months of January and February it gets quite cold, however not that bad. But in upper Siberia Russia, they have tundra winter temperature rises. Where theirs a city in Siberia called Yakutsk is the coldest city in the World.

So what's happening in Sicily and in Georgia. That's because the continents are shifting. Moving around back and fourth it's been like that since the collapse of Pangea. The supercontinent. Again Canada and Russia should be having the same winter climates but aren't because Canada is shifting close to the equator line. Where Russia is still aligned below the arctic line.

So that's my philosophy in what's happening. Human contributions would most likely cause pollution, famine, any kind of crises. But not climate change. Again because the continents are shifting.

Chile in South America its capital city if Santiago had snowfall which so many people encountered and were shocked. That's again why 😊

I majored in environmental science for undergrad so yes, yes I am lol. Honestly one of the most frustrating things is how little people actually understand what's going on. Like one of the largest effects of CO2 in the atmosphere isn't just global warming, but ocean acidification. The change kills coral and other life forms with carbonate-based shells/skeletons. This in turn can collapse marine ecosystems in a big way. But all we talk about is the change in average temperatures which people  still  don't seem to understand why matters. Don't even get me started on invasives, mono-cropping, or urban heat islands.

My concern isn’t as important as my lack of power. Of course anyone with sense is worried, but it won’t change as long as the largest corporations continue to work with and find fossil fuels and they won’t change that standard because they don’t want to pay for it. And even if a country were to start imposing laws dictating that companies need to use renewable energy, they would sooner move to a country that would allow it than actually follow through with it.

I think about the entirety of this planet and the future of how it’s going to go all the time. We as a people sadly don’t help each other enough to get together and fix and restore the world we live in. We’re doomed! People are greedy and kinda stingy if you think about how we just want to make money, the most money, doing close to nothing or no work. If climate change activists and climate change scientists were serious about doing something to curtail atmospheric pollution on earth, they'd be calling for the elimination of international airline travel instead of going after commuters and air conditioning and household appliances. One cross-ocean international flight puts as much pollution into the upper atmosphere as one average commuter driving to and from work for an entire year. Don't believe me? Go check out the levels of global atmospheric pollution during the height of the pandemic shutdown, when there was just about 0% international flights occurring around the world. They were all at pre-industrial era levels all over the world. Some people might say that there was less cars and trucks on the road during that time also, but that wasn't exactly the case, because millions of bored people bought record numbers of crap from places like Amazon, which means that companies like Amazon had record numbers of delivery trucks on the road (along with making billions of dollars). Also, most of the people not going to work in metropolitan areas during the Covid lockdowns were already commuting via mass transit before the pandemic anyway.

When climate change "experts" decide that they want to be serious about climate change and actually do something that's meaningful, like stopping all unnecessary international airline travel, instead of just doing symbolic virtue signaling dumb shit that only spreads paranoia and aggravation, then MAYBE I'll listen. Right now, all the climate change activists and Limousine Liberals want to do is stop average people from driving to and from work, stop average people from using air conditioning, and stop average people from using other household appliances, while they continue to fly all over the world on vacations multiple times a year, polluting the upper atmosphere far more than any of us average people. A year or two ago, in Australia, a scientist published a report that confirmed that the Great Barrier Reef had a greater amount of new coral growth than in any year since 1985, and as soon as it was published, the government squashed it and he was fired from his job at the university where he was teaching. Honestly no I’m not. Phoenix has always been in triple digits during the summer. Besides this is stuff I was told as a kid some 30 years ago, that the world would end. Hasn’t yet. The way I see it is it’ll end when I die. I think a lot of people aren’t concerned w it because there’s situations that could kill them much faster than global warming that they’re currently facing. Like hunger, medical issues, homelessness, etc. I work in a prison, I’m more concerned w what could happen there then the heat frying me. I think if people were better off financially they might be a little more concerned about it, but they’re not so they’re more concerned w the now, like what am I going to feed my kids.

I’m more concerned about more pressing issues with actual solutions, not ambiguous solutions to varying temperatures that supposedly leading to more severe weather. Can anyone say what average temperature is ideal for earth? I tend to think it’s a little arrogant to think we know what’s best for the planet and how to supposedly fix it. The planet will be fine, regardless if there are humans on it. Though I tend to think most ecosystems would actually be worse off without humans at this point.

The climate is changing, but trying to stop it by making us more vulnerable to severe weather seems shortsighted and foolish. Not to mention, every-time we “solve” a problem, we end up creating another.

I am not concerned. I have faith in human ingenuity. We can fix our problems.

I think that government actually will be in the way and prevent us from finding cures to our problem, while claiming to be redistributing money towards more worthy moral, climate saving actions.

But government intervention will force focus on one area or another, leaving other areas unexplored.

And it is those unexplored areas that would only be explored in a completely free system, which will hold the keys to our solving the climate problem.

So I am worried in a way. I'm afraid that government will get in the way so much that they delay progress long enough that we end up screwed.

I believe it's happening but the real question is what we do about it. The globohomo want us to not have cars or eat meat while they fly private jets and eat wagyu. They want us living in pods and owning nothing while have multiple houses and golf courses. Maybe. But considering the average lifespan of humans that don't rely on industrial support I'd say we'd be far worse off not doing what we do.

Energy replaced manual labor quite some time ago. In exchange for burning fuel the average person were able to enjoy a somewhat comfortable life. In comparison workers would slave all day and just barely be able to feed their families prior to that change.

Pretty much everything humans need to survive and have a chance at a decent life stems out of some process that effects the earth.
