Would you vote for an AI in an election?

In the UK we have a general election in a week to decide which party and members of Parliament that get elected.

Steve the Ai

One hopeful MP is an AI with them being represented by a Flesh and Blood person.

If elected the ‘flesh bag’ Will take their seat in Parliament as an Independent, however they will just be a mouth piece for Steve the AI

The idea behind it is that the AI will take the suggestions from the local population and put these forward to parliament.

Now before we all dismiss it as an utter nightmare, I wonder how many current politicians use ChatGPT or similar to ask what they should do.

No, I would not vote for AI.

You make a very good point about how commonplace AI is and how often it is used because we don't want to think something through ourselves. Not saying that taking shortcuts for efficiency is all bad, but not at the expense of our awareness and intuition.

@TheRealPepperPotts yeah it’s a decent vid. At present we are predominantly using LLM and calling it AI, it’s also not using all of the known data and it’s using normal but powerful servers, with Quantum computing around the corner they believe that the power of LLMs and other tech will get an immense boost on functionality.
There is a chance that learning a language (for travel and business) in about 5 years will almost be pointless, the speed of translation will be pretty much real time as will the ability to reply.
There is also the darker side to all this, the cyber criminals use AI for illegal activities such as assisting in hacking. If someone is able to tamper and access the data used by an AI they can decide what answers it provides.
