Did anyone in the US have any effects from Hurricane Helene?

Here in my area of NC we had no power for 27 hrs and many are still without, but others in NC , SC, FL, GA and TN aren’t so lucky

I think I'm about 800 miles or so away from landfall. We got heavy winds for several hours and rain for several days.

We've had such a drought that we needed the rain really bad. Even several days straight of rain is not enough. The grass is dead, not just dormant.

There are a lot of trees and limbs down. I have two large limbs that I need to clean up. Time to break out the chainsaw.

Surprisingly I didn't lose power. We lose power a LOT where I live, but not this time. I did lose Internet and phone though.

Our location means we don’t get too many issues. Some leakage in the basement during an August flood, but a tiny issue in comparison to people in Florida.

Western North Carolina here. Trees down all over the roads, some were suspended above the roads by the power lines. No electricity for 6 days and no cell service for the first few days after the storm.

We've had minor rain sprinkles, just enough to keep me from getting the grass cut for the last several weeks (amongst other reasons). NOW, I'm gonna have to wait `til NEXT weekend!! Last week, the weather said it was gonna be sunny on Sunday and Monday!! Now, it's gonna rain every day from 3 days ago `til NEXT Sat.!!
