So this was not about insults uttered to a public audience, but threats directed against the person specifically. German law usually seeks to deter vigilantism. The woman also refused to appear to two of her court hearings, which I would speculate limited the options for the judge further.

I had to look this up since you did a very poor job of presenting the case. He was only one of MANY men who raped this girl (who was drunk. Not saying that makes it ok, just presenting the facts) it was a multicultural raping considering the man were of many varied ethnicities and nationalities, not one of them of which was German.

I guess the lesson here is if you're going to get gang raped by men of many varying ethnic backgrounds do it in a country that doesn't have a well known past of persecuting minorities (Jewish people by nazi's if you don't get what I'm driving at) and therefore they might go out of thier way to suppress Any hint of further "hate speech" (because that's what they're calling it. They basically saying she said this because she's racist, not because these men were rapists).

The absurdity of this world does not even phase me anymore.🤦‍♂️

No surprise there! Germans were told to cover their daughters when walking to school , “to prevent any misunderstandings,” with the influx of men who feel entitled to take what they want. Many citizens support that language and sympathize with the aggressors. Germany even changed their child rape laws to allow Muslim men to keep their child brides because, “Well, it’s their custom.” 🤢

So yeah I agree that rapists are not punished hard enough. We can agree on this. But as someone else already corrected, these two sentences are independent sentences. So yes harder punishments for rapists, but the facts that headline is saying are just wrong.

First Amendment in the US helps mitigate the risk of this outcome, but speech police is creeping its way into our legal system as well. Make no mistake Western Europe is slowly losing its freedom. This is why we got Trump, there was a backlash against what is obviously an insane circumstance.

Most people don't know this. Until the 1980s, in America, rape was not considered a serious crime. Females were often advised to keep quiet about it to protect their reputation. Terrible, but true. Many European countries have less regard for human life than Americans (as a whole.) They need to catch up. But they don't have the liberty to "steer" their country like we do.
