How can Boeing supply China with 200 737 airplanes when they cannot even make 2 Airforce One planes in ten years?

When President Trump was elected in 2016 one of the first things he did was renegotiate the terms of the contract with Boeing to build two new 747 planes to be the next Air Force Ones. He slashed the cost to taxpayers 1 billion dollars. These planes were never produced and Boeing blames supply chain issues. It was recently announced that China is interested in purchasing 200 737 Airliners. I do not even see why anyone would want to do business with a company with a record of not fulfilling a small contract ot two airplanes.

America does not build anymore... China does

China is the supply chain, so Boeing just does it quickly and effectively

the USA is different... Americans, even the president, have to pay not only for China to supply, but the many middle men in between, to be supplied, then they have to pay to store, to assemble, permits, licenses... "quality control", design, "copyrights" and certifications

and what not...

and, knowing Trump... it was just another scam... contracts were given, money was paid

and nothing delivered

The reason Boeing and others are begging China is because China has global control of the rare earths and energy markets - two things you very much need to build aircraft.

Boeing couldn't build new Air Force planes as it could not secure the resources from China. Boeing is using parts and supplies made in China to make planes.

Effectively those planes will be made in China, just assembled in the USA.

I was in a graduate program in 2010 and in a Technology Management course we had Boeing as a case study. They were migrating from an all American made process where everything is made and assembled in Seattle to a modular approach where specific modules are manufactured offshore. The first thing I said was "What could go wrong?" Boeing has gone downhill ever since. There has been quality control issues, manufacturing defects and fallout concerning the fatal crashes of their 737 MAX aircraft,

The bigger question is why would the United States sell 200 American 🇺🇸 jets to our enemy?
They've already purchased a lot of American land and God knows what they are going to do with it. The land is right next to our nuclear facilities.🤔

Boeing is not making new Air Force One planes. They are refurbishing two existing 747s that were never delivered to the cistomer. That causes a lot of problems. All of the wiring needs to be replaced, since it doesn't meet current standards. The fuselage needs to be strengthened, updated landing gear, and lots of top-secret military equipment onboard, most of which the plane was never intended to support.

Boeing originally gave Trump a higher cost for two new planes but Trump negotiated a lower price, allowing Boeing to reuse existing planes. In hindsight, that was not a good decision, resulting in a much harder job, more expensive for Boeing (stuck with a fixed-price contract) and years of schedule delays.

Boeing cranks out standard 737 planes on a proven assembly line, with at least one 737 coming off the line every day.

I never heard this story, Still , when I used to bid on public contracts there was often a section where I would be asked if I ever failed to complete a contract. I do not see why Boeing should get a pass. They were awarded the contract for the new F-47 plane and now Trump got China to order 200 737s.
