There’s WAY more to the story than you’re letting on. IF Anthony belonged at the meet at all, his team had their own tent. The rules about staying out of other teams’ tents came about because they had a series of thefts. Also, it wasn’t raining that hard, and even if it was IT’S JUST RAIN. Multiple witnesses during the trial testified that Karmelo was openly hostile from the beginning. Austin got involved because the aggressor had scared off multiple other people who asked him to leave. He wasn’t a “guest”. Guests have responsibilities too and Karmelo made it perfectly clear that he wasn’t there as a friend or ally.
Lastly, he stabbed Metcalf within SECONDS of the confrontation. Not one witness testified that he was aggressive. In fact, he attempted to deescalate by saying “I don’t want to fight you”.
Anthony had no interest in following the rules, being kind or deescalating. He 100% went there to hurt or kill someone. The verdict is completely appropriate and i would argue that the sentence was a bit lenient.

Everytime I see one of these "usual suspects," I look a little deeper and see parents very similar to this kid's (look at how they bank rolled off their own kid and not even show up for his sentencing) and a deep involvement in a culture that resembles early 1990's gangster rap.

Placing myself in Metcalfs position I would have sought event assistance when Anthony never left the tent after repeatedly being asked to, its inclement weather and nothing to get all “alpha” about but when you possess a knife as Anthony clearly did , your going to use it.

The facts are that he was convicted of murder because in a fit of anger he stabbed that boy to death. As I understand it the knife penetrated the sternum so that took a hell of a swing. A small push does not grant that right of a response. A black guy who was there said it didn’t even move the aggressor as it was so light is my understanding. Im considered white when I fill out govt forms. I've not seen all the data, but I do think the black perspective (people that check "black" on govt forms) can hang a valid question mark on it. I did not say that. I dno't have enough to judge race through both sides sufficiently.
But I'm definitely saying by experience... I've seen a few AA males with pride and a stiff back, especially as teens. Happens with other races, it may be personality factor moreso. But I can justify that AA were abused historically so they may have some if not more by environment. I've seen a LOT of humble AA people too... especially as get older. So I can see the scenario in that light.

Biblically... and constitutionally... he had a right to be there as far as I know and he should not have been bullied out. In fact, respectfully, when you have a guest... you give them your space.
