The man really was thrown that high into the air by the bison about nearly 8 feet (2.4 metres) into the air according to report.

Hell yes! Or a moose or any other large, pissed off animal. But I wouldn't put myself in that position in the first place. Wild herbivores don't attack unless they feel threatened.
I don't know what that guy did to deserve such a warning from a bison but I bet he won't do it again.
Your welcome
Definitely.

The tabloids make the story more dramatic as it probably is. Has this tourist really been thrown into the air or is that one of their numerous fakes meant to increase readership? Fact is that you cannot believe those visuals anymore.
Yes, I would obviously feel scared if I am being chased by a 1,500lb bison charging me. Even inside a car, you risk to get hurt if he (or she) rams the car. Better keep a safe distance and never get out of that car that will give you some kind of protection.
Bisons are wild animals and are also very unpredictable.
Bison and wild animals are very predictable. It's a myth they act randomly. I bet this animal had a calf with it or the guy was being a jerk. Animals don't attack without good cause.
So yes I would be scared, the animal is committed to killing you, it's not messing around or trying to intimate you.
Males can be territorial in mating season and cows with calves can attack potential threats.
It looks like first option
I wouldn't come closer than 100m to wild Bison. If I was in this situation running around a thicker tree and using it a obstacle seems to best option.
It's bison mating season, the park says to stay at least 75 to 100 feet away from wildlife, and if they were closer to this bull, it's clear that it thought they were invading its territory and that's why it charged. National parks are not zoos. Use binoculars!!!
If you are stupid enough to NOT respect an adult male Bison that can weigh 1,800 to 2,400lbs and run 35 to 40 mph you are a fucking idiot who deserves everything that comes your way. Bison are territorial herbivore herd animals who are constantly on the lookout for predators. And males are always defending their harem. They do NOT see humans as friends.
Well first off I would have never gotten out of my vehicle to try & take a selfie with a wild animal.
nope...
worse, I would feel excited about it, lmfao... which is stupid to think and see it as something potentially fun
HOWEVER, I would not be stupid to be one of these tourists that are disrespectful like that
@Staximus yes, I have... one that got loose and started to rush around and hit a couple of vehicles, lol
and I was way smaller too, barely a teen, lmao
so I wasn't "scared"
I mean, of course... I have common sense and it's not like I went chasing it... but let's you say I would not be terrified, I would do exactly what I did that... "I better find a safer place to be right now HAHAHAHAHA"
Is a frog's ass water tight hell I don't think I could run fast enough well I know I could but there better be fences than walls and all that kind of stuff to climb up on quickly yes I would be scared
I watched this yesterday , it really was purely after him , certainly NOT AI , official attack the guy went to hospital , serious condition
Scared = Hell yeah.
Definitely, and it would probably catch me because i’d be laughing too hard to run at my best. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
(Sees full grown man getting catapulted through the air like a ragdoll…)
Nope. I ain’t scared of no bison. 😆
Yes I would. But I'm pretty sure I would stay far enough away so that this would never happen.
Ummm hell yea I be scared shitless if that thing was coming at me
Bisons gotta be strong if they can even launch Americans into the air.
I would not be so unwise as to place myself in that situation.
They have horns or no? Either way yes. They are huge!
I would eat it and have a bison burger. Lol.. I heard that’s what they’re doing now bison burgers
Who wouldn't? Stombs on your head and you can seriously possibly die.
That old man is a moron for getting too close to a wild animal on the loose.
I’d 💩 myself if an animal that size chased me.
No ofcourse not.. its just a 500kg agressive tank that is trying to kill you. No big deal 🤷🏼♂️
I would be really scared. Bison can be nasty beasts.
Less scared than if an armed white boy saw me alone in the woods!!!(Or if I were bedding Lizzo and she fell on me !!!)
Yeah, that would be like a bull charging at me, at least they are vegetarian, but I wouldn’t wanna get thrown around
HELL YES!!! 2000 pounds of anger meat chasing you at 35 mph, that can fill a car with just a head flick. most definitely.
Yes, they're huge animals yes hell deer scare me you see what they can do to a car.
Hell yeah, have you ever seen one of those behemoths in person? No thanks
If you are not scared in that situation you have must have mental issues.
I would not. I'm aways armed. I would shoot him and eat him
Unless you routinely walk around with a. 45-70 rifle or larger, he probably wouldn't even notice. We're talking about an animal in excess of 2000 pounds that is very robustly built. Most handguns could not penetrate a bison skull, for example. That would include a. 44Mag.
The correct answer is to simply keep your distance, especially if there are young around. They tend to be pretty docile unless they feel threatened, or if startled, but they really don't like anyone messing with their young.
A.500 S&W Magnum is my side arm but when I'm where bison are I have a.338 Winchester Magnum on my back or on my quad or snowmobile

My family resides in North Dakota
Nobody in Texas seeks your permission or justification
North Dakota either. FGGT
Obviously, but why carry such a massive weight around all day? It's massively overkill (dangerously so) for self defense in any populated area, and the chances of encountering a creature large enough to need a 500 S&W that is also posing a direct threat is nearly zero. Surely carrying a smaller, lighter pistol as a daily carry would make far more sense.
You can do what you want, of course, but you could carry, say, a full size 10mm Glock with 16 rounds and still be half the weight and slightly smaller. That would be plenty for virtually anything you would ever encountet, would be much more reasonable for self defense, and significantly reduce the weight you are carrying around all day. And there are plenty of other suitable options.
I'm glad you are carrying something, I just don't understand the reasons for that particular piece given where you are.
I am an eagle scout. I'm always prepared.
Yes, definitely
yes but now i would be even more scared
I would freak out. They're HUGE!
Nope, I've been chased by moose before.
That's what he gets for bothering animals lol
Nahhh... I'd just offer him a beer.
There aren't any bisons in my country.
why was he near it in the first place?
Well duh !! Those mfs could break you in half
Surely do
of course.
Yes I would
Nope.
Obviously lol
