JFK was the President of the United States. That's a bit more high profile of an assassination. MLK and Charlie Kirk were both politically charged social change speakers. MLK being a speech writer and orator and Charlie Kirk being a debater. Charlie Kirk had a much larger following than MLK. He was more influential. That said, he had better media tools to reach people as well. MLK existed in an era when there was no internet, when the black and white TV was just being adopted. Only like 45 million households had a single Black and White TV and Whites were more likely to own a TV than non-Whites. Media coverage of MLK was limited as well and geographically bias. So technically the Charlie Kirk assassination was bigger thank MLK. I wouldn't say bigger than JFK, but definitely the biggest since JFK.
jfk faded away. mlk idea is only alive due to a memory day. that democrats refused to make for 12 years! until regan used it to get votes for re- election. see republicans don't 'exclude' minority! but kirk is the now! and in attention! by far kirk is more "in attention." than both combined.
Just who the fuck is this Charlie Kirk individual? The name just seems to keep on cropping up.
He's a hate-monger whose last word out of his mouth was "violence" and then he was promptly shot in the neck and exsanguinated (bled out).
I'll give him this: He exemplifed his words:
“I think it’s worth it to have a cost; unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year. So that we can have our Second Amendment to protect our other God given rights.”
Be careful what you wish for.
You just might get it.
Good. Make his name irrelevant af lol
@abc3643 I imagine he probably wasn’t thinking about himself when he said that paragraph about the second amendment.
@abc3643 He was probably only thinking of other people when he said that.
Yeah, isn't that ironic... The GOP has a tendency to do that - they think problems happen to other people so it doesn't concern them. "Violence"... his last word... Now THAT'S ironic!
It's true, the way he got shot and killed is terrible, johm kennedy was a politician and a president whioe charley kirk was just a moral activist and has a kind heart and wouldn't hurt anybody, so yes it's even worse than kennedy!
Charlie Kirk's friend is an idiot... like Charlie Kirk.
I wanna update my response given I've seen the video and there's better context.

He said "... I think it was the biggest assassination that has happened in our country since MLK or Kennedy..."
First, he said "Kennedy" not JFK. JFK's brother and current Health Secretary's father, Robert F. Kennedy (Sr.) was assassinated in June 1968, two months after MLK's assassination. RFK's was an enormous assassination like JFK's and MLK's.
Second, he says "this country" and that narrows the scope of the discussion because there have been other important assassinations in the world since 1968.
I still don't think Charlie Kirk's assassination is historically big even in the US. Many people - including me - had no idea who Charlie Kirk was until his death.
However, between 1968 and Charlie's death, there were other prominent assassinations and assassination attempts. For instance, when notorious Alabama governor and 1972 Presidential candidate George Wallace was shot in May 1972 leaving him paralyzed. Hustler founder Larry Flynt, same in 1978. John Lennon's 1980 assassination was very prominent - and, arguably, his second best career move because his shitty comeback album, Double Fantasy, had enormous sales after that. The recent United Healthcare CEO's assassination was very prominent and arguably at least just as important as Charlie Kirk's. Kirk's assassination did nothing really except be a manifestation of the polarized anger in this country. The United Healthcare CEO assassination was a manifestation of genuine anger that many, including me, have about health care in the United States - it made something real and gave notice just like 9/11 illustrated the anger of Islamists toward the US.
To me they’re on the same level.
They were men who used critical thinking and applied common sense solutions to so many problems that are rampant in society
They are correct. "the biggest SINCE" yes. It was seen by more people than JFK or MLK.
Same shit, different decade. History repeats because it's scripted
Uhh yeah lol. Charlie who?
