Texas has it's own Stock Exchange (The Texas Stock Exchange) and Goldman Sachs has unveiled it's new headquarters in Dallas. It is an 800,000 sq foot new construction. All the other financial companies have also moved there or are in the process of doing so. along with this comes all the employees and all the tax revenue that they generate.

AI data centers are being built in Texas and Texas now has the 7th largest economy in the world.

No state taxes, fewer regulations and a pro business environment is one of the reasons to move.

NYC is a global financial hub. Goldman is not moving their headquarter.
JP Morgan just completed their new headquarter on 46 and park avenue.

There are always corporations moving away and others signing new leases in the city.

People and companies have been fleeing the Northeast for the South for years, and it continues to increase. It's not just for the weather. Economics and poorly-maintained infrastructure are main factors.

No it isn't. Many large US corporations are registered in tax havens like Ireland, including Goldman Sachs, where they report most of their income and keep their US income as low as possible. It doesn't matter what state you're headquarters are in anymore. Apple, Google and Meta do just fine with headquarters in California because they report most of their income in Ireland saving billions every single year.
