If I had to take a guess I would say humans successfully stepping foot on Mars will happen in the 2040’s.

No, it's practically impossible for a number of reasons -- the energy required, the health effects of long term weightlessness, the radiation in space that is very difficult to shield, the difficuty of keeping humans alive on Mars for more than a few days, and the absurd expense. There is no magic that can solve these problems.
