Yes it does make me get butterflies and stuff but it's still just... A useless day. It's like every other day.
People always say this but you can really say this about any holiday
even Christmas. Like yes it has meaning behind it but most people don’t even pay attention to it anymore. It’s all about black Friday deals, who’s getting the best gifts, etc.

Im single but I always celebrate Valentine’s Day. Yesterday I did 24 hours without work and indulged on a tasty night time snack. But yeah, a lot of people think it’s just a hall mark money pay out, not a legitimate tradition that should be held in high esteem.
Yes it is simply a Cash Cow for Business and is Hallmark cards Holiday. 💰 💰💰💰💰💰. From Halloween 👻 to Valentines 💘 is nothing but Marketing and 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰

it is mostly marketing, yes...
but one could also make it meaningful without spending lots of money... with the right person, of course Yes it’s just another way for stores and restaurants to make money , it puts people on a guilt trip like oh my God my partner didn’t do anything for me on valentines Day , that just shows they really don’t love me , so and so got their partner flowers and gifts but my partner didn’t get me anything , it’s the biggest crock of shit what so ever , Why you see lots of husbands and boyfriends running to the store last minute to buy their girlfriend or wives flowers , candy and jewelry etc Like it’s their birthday or anniversary or some shit , Receiving those things on Valentine’s Day is
Not that thoughtful cuz it’s a made up day , what is really thoughtful is receiving those things on a regular day out of no where , I take that more to heart then Fake Marketing Valentine’s Day , if people actually stopped comparing their relationships to other people they actually might see true love in the person they have right in front of them , You and your partner should be the only thing that matters not worrying about what other people are dojngFirst, you need to realize it was originally a Catholic holiday.
It is Saint Valentine's Day.
Just like there's Saint Patrick's Day... or Christmas... or Easter...It is NOT a "Hallmark Holiday" or money grab any more than Christmas is.

It's a fun day. If you have a so you just buy them a fun present, maybe take them out if you want.
If you don't you can do the same for your friends or family.
Or just don't celebrate it.
But people put such a huge thing on something that is just meant to be fun
Well, yessss... but it can still be fun. And besides, the very same thing could be said about every other day we think of as being special, like Christmas Day and people's birthdays.
indeed it is, it can be more if someone picks to take it to more, but genrually its what marketers turn it to
Pretty much. Like couples don't date and give each other flowers at any other time of the year.
Also, WTF are we celebrating courtship on the feast day of a Catholic saint? How did that even happened?
New year, Halloween, Valentine's day, there are n number of days which are just marketing and a way for businesses to make money and commoners falling into their trap. People who make an unreasonable deal out of it make me sick to the core.
Yeah, its just to push chocolates, flowers, jewelry and expensive dinner dates.
No more than any other holiday, or super bowl for that matter.
In my opinion, gifts and romantic dates actually mean more any other day of the year because it means your partner didn't need an excuse to think of you and do something nice
It shouldn't be. It celebrates the patron saint of love and romance.
Whoah! Why are you saying this? You're supposed to be deep in love. This isn't the type of comment that people make when they are in love. This is what single people say.
Of course it is.
That's why I never celebrate it.It's the same as secular Christmas or Halloween
I'm sure it's used and seen in that sense a lot, but I'm also sure it is seen in historical, romantic, and traditional manners as well.
Rightly expressed, every significant day is commercial marketing and purley delusuion.
Yes, it is. Just as diamond rings are.
You show your love every day. You make feel the other special at regular intervals.Yeap, but isn't human life just marketing? It's just.. another useless organism 😉
Nothing has meaning until we give it one.
