Decoding the "side hug"

Also, to make note, when we are sitting down, and we have our dreaded one handed hug - she usually has her bag or her phone in her other hand - it seems like she does it purposely, just so we don't have the full hug - perhaps I am over exaggerating, but it can be a frustrating - woe is me.

A front hug from any girl is welcome. I just don't anticipate it, because girls know that their breasts rub on guys when giving front hugs. So I am around girls who are cautious about who they give hugs to.

If you've known him for years then it is good. But a side hug is given when you are not very close to the person.

I'm a tall guy, I don't get off from a girls boobs rubbing against my belly... People who side hug are really secretive/untrustworthy or insecure/scared. To be able to hug like a normal human being is a sign of trust and support not because of interest in the opposite sex. When a parent hugs a child or when siblings hug there's no incest there! in the LGBT community they hug because it's a loving and supportive environment much like the Hawaiian culture where everyone is like family. These side-huggers are like sheltered Amish people venturing out on Rumspringa or are sheltered and confused because of what their church expects them to do or because they raised in a cold/frigid environment. I hate side-hugs, they might as well give me a good-bye high five... so awkward.

Of course you should front hug anyone you want to. Contact should be reserved for any guy (or gal) you feel is special. Connection is what drives our humanity. We desperately need more of that in this country.

@Jumboqt4u Haha - so right, side hugs are like high fives where you miss or the timing is slightly off so one person ends up giving more than the other and its awkward.
