It's all about ratio. Shorter girls have less distance between their hips and chest, which means if you look at a tall girl and a short girl with the same measurements, the short girls curves will be sharper and more visually dramatic, which makes her more attractive.
A lot of men feel some sort of need to have to protect their girl. A larger/taller girl however seems like she doesn't need protection, which can put guys like that off. Me personally I'm not like that so I don't care.
Well I speak for myself. My two step sisters tortured me through 8-12 and they were both taller. So I sort of link all other girls the same. Plus when I was 10 I was pretty much forced to have sex with one of their friends who was taller then me and I did not enjoy it... So I'm sort of terrified of taller women.
Hhaha DITTO bro. but honestly, I couldn't care less about the height... but if she's like 2-3+ inches over me than yaeh it does kinda look weird. - 17 days ago

Hee are my personal reason which I believe some guys relate to as to why they like petite girls too:
They are much smaller than me which gives sort of a boost to my feeling of masculinity. Being petite is cute, and adorable/cute is very attractive to me, far more so than being "hot". Danty/petite means I have more opportunities to be a masculine helping hand by carrying out tasks that she wouldn't be able to without my help. As a petite girl I can carry her more easily which means it can last longer and I won't deny it, being close like that doesn't hurt ^_^ With a petite girl I can feel more protective of her. Being able to look down at her shimmering eyes just helps give her a more "inoccent" look which is again very attractive to me. So I'd say probably the two biggest things for most guys that like petite girls is they seem more cute to us, and it allows us to feel more masculine around them, which both of these (at least to me) allow for more things to do with them and add to attractiveness.
Of course that's not to say I wouldn't be against dating a taller woman, or larger boned or even a slightly chunky woman; I'm not THAT shallow, I just prefer petite girls, because I am attracted to petite women.
I totally agree with you, because as a woman I prefer taller guys for the inverse reasons. With a taller guy, I feel smaller, daintier, and more womanly. I like being wrapped up in a tall man's arms. If I dated a guy who was my height, I wouldn't get that feeling, which would suck :( - 13 days ago

I kind of thought that may be the case for most women. - 13 days ago
Because every guy has their own preferences. I prefer cute girls over hot ones. On the other hand, I do feel intimidated by girls that are taller than me or girls that are more 'hot' as opposed to 'cute'.
I like them all, we usually like smaller girls the same reason most girls think small dogs are cute. We like to be able to easily pick our lady up and feel strong around her. If they are small, then it makes that all easier.
Some guys like petite, some like large breasts, some actually like smaller breast, some like them tall, all kinds of shapes for everyone, just as gills like tall lean men. But there is room for bigger people too.
As a general rule, men tend to like women smaller than themselves, women tend to like men larger then themselves. Both favor lean bodies. All of the these rules can be broken at anytime or any given moment, even for those go had generally liked the opposite body shapes.
I know of a happily married couple, he's 5'2", she is 5'11. Go figure.
Many guys, myself included, like feeling like they can "protect" a girl. The protection instinct makes us feel more masculine and more secure in a relationship. When a girl is shorter than us, we're attracted because it triggers that feeling that we can offer her protection and security.
Petite girls are considered "cute". A girl that is petite is considered "Fun-Sized" which is a good thing.
Personally I like girls that are petite and girls that are tall - it depends more on my attraction for them, and their personality. I would go on a date with either of them - but the long term relationship would be with a girl that I am happy with.
Well, I am petite. I certainly don't have any problems with my height whatsoever and haven't found it to be a problem with short or tall men I've dated. The best answer to your question is that everyone has preferences, men and women. If some guys prefer petite girls, that's just their personal taste. Some prefer taller women too. Basing your decisions on dating someone on height sounds too shallow for me though, and I've never taken height into consideration when choosing a potential date.
it's an instict that all males have to protect what's theirs. if guy is with a girl who is smaller than him this satisfies them in that they feel more masculine and able to protect the girl.
I'm only 5' 4" so I guess that counts as petite? Firstly I can say it's not always true, but guys have told me that it's kinda cute and I guess makes them feel more manly for being bigger. I can kinda relate - I like tall guys because it makes me feel smaller by comparison, and for some reason I just like being small. I don't know, but in the end it's always down to personal preference.
I'm a petite girl ...4feet 11 inches and weigh less that 100 pounds...I was wondering what guys think about us small girls...do you find you just as...
Browsing over the questions, I see a repeated variation on the following: "What do I have to do so that the opposite gender will find me attractive?" No one can answer this question for you....
"I look nothing like the girls from Sex and the City" "My body isn't even close to the bodies in the magazines" "My boobs are too small" "My boobs are too big" "I have a ghetto booty" "I have no butt"...
