He is probably just calling you that as a nickname. Usually long term friends like that don't do the small stuff after that long. AKA, if he really LIKES you, he would probably be doing something much more such as like asking to cuddle, hugging you every time he sees you, ect. In my experiences he is just giving you a nickname :). But everyone has their own ways of showing affection, so any opinion you get, including mine, could possibly be wrong.
I haven't seen him in a while! he went away, but we have been talking like every day and he keeps saying he's waiting for that "special girl" which I believe because we both like that! he's moving back here next year, I have no idea why though cos he's leaving his job and getting transfered back here, but for what?
Ask him, and if he doesn't give you a reason like a job, or school or whatnot, who knows, maybe he really really likes you and wants to be with you :)
this is a good question, I have a guy friend who calls me babycakes and I've kinda wondered if this is maybe just his way of trying to be more intimate or just his quirky disposition haha
my friend at work calls me babybird. he's an older man. just a nickname I guess.
