+1 yIf you're planning on getting high for the first time, make sure it's something you really want to do. If you've had viks with liquor then you've already done something worse than smoking weed. Smoking weed is probably less harmful than drinking. You won't get addicted to weed if you are a decently smart human being. Weed affects people differently, and you might not like it.
Do not take anything else with it. DON'T drink grapefruit juice AT ALL while smoking weed... I had a chemical reaction in the roof of my mouth that never really went away as a result. This is especially important for beginners who wouldn't know the difference (like I was).
You won't get addicted, BUT your girlfriend is going to ask you over and over again to smoke weed. So you should decide right now when you are doing it, when you are not, how many times, etc. And make a deal with her that she is not to beg cry whine or guilt you into doing it more than that. This is YOUR life we're talking about here, not hers.
That being said, one time smoking weed is not going to really show you "what weed is like". But who cares? Weed smokers spend large amounts of time describing it, and trying to get a grasp on what it actually is.
Don't take more than 1-3 hits, and don't do it when you have responsibilities or family obligations for the next 3 days or so. First-timers can be affected for a long period of time.
Make sure the weed you try is good weed. You don't want to be getting some crappy mersh that gives you a headache. Dank is OK... Don't try what weed smokers say will get you reallly high though. Sometimes it can be laced, and that's something you don't want, obviously.
There is a knack to smoking, obviously.
Do not drive! People who smoke pot regularly can drive while high because they understand how it works in their brain and they just focus on the road. People who are just starting out simply cannot do this. DO NOT DRIVE! Even the day after. Give it some time.
Take maybe 3 hits tops. If you want to be conservative take one hit. You can take two. Don't take more than three. You're gonna be high no matter how much you take, in all likelihood. Of course, I'm on the small side.
Seriously, just have a lot of healthy food around... All food tastes good when you're stoned. Don't leave nasty stale crackers out, and you won't eat them.
Use a journal to write down your experience.22 Reply- +1 y
Like other people said, weed is good, but that does not mean that other drugs are good. Weed is an entirely different thing from other drugs. Also, like somebody else said, you don't even have to smoke it if you're concerned about your lungs, you can have a "brownie" or something, although the oil cooking has a fowl smell that is probably not bad for you, so I would leave it cooking and leave the house. Also, the high is different. But who cares, it's not like you have anything to compare it to.

Too bad about your relationship there. Gotta have common values/goals though.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI took a Brain and Behavior class and we discussed the effects of pot. In actuality, out of the 5 major abused drugs (nicotine-tobacco, alcohol, pot, heroin, and cocaine/amphetamines) pot is actually the least harmful, and the least addictive. If you are going to smoke something, it is actually much safer to smoke pot. It is much less addictive than nicotine/tabacco, and while it is still harmful to your lungs, it is less so than pot. 70% of those who try a cigarette become addicted. The rate for marijuana addiction is drastically lower, I don't remember an exact number, but it is much much lower.
You can absolutely only do it once, if you so choose. There is no way that after trying it once you will become addicted in any way. Actually, many first-time smokers don't even experience any of the effects associated with smoking pot (euphoria, blurred memories, dizziness/wooziness, perspective of time is somewhat altered, etc). And honestly there are no after-effects. There is no such thing as a 'hang-over' like if you were to get drunk, it is really a smooth descent. Generally when people smoke, they will get to the point where they are high, and then stop. Of course this isn't always the case. But a high will normally last probably 3 to 6 hours, depending on how much, and you will feel it wear off and there are really no effects. You feel completely normal afterward. The only bad thing is that people tend to get a really dry mouth, and also the bloodshot eyes (looks like you swam in a pool underwater with your eyes open). I've also never heard of being hungry as a side-effect, even though I suppose it could be. However, it's really not going to cause you to become a couch potato and eat all the time!
I'd say the best thing you could do is to look into it yourself, and you know if you try it once and you don't like it, or whatever, there is really no harm done. But just don't worry about becoming addicted, because the chances of that are really slim -- especially if you were to do it only on occasion.
Hope this helped!23 Reply- +1 y
A high will normally last probably 3 to 6 hours, depending on how much, but a week later there still will be a sizeable amount of THC (tetra hydro cannabiol, the "active" substance) and when you take one, it will add up and so on.
Opinion Owner+1 yTHC only stays in your body for around 10 days though, for an infrequent user. It isn't still having an effect on you though, it just has a longer half life and thus takes longer to totally be gone from your body.
+1 yWeed itself is proven to not harm your body. It's the smoking part that harms your body. In fact, my mom's best friend has Muscular Dystrophy and doesn't have an appetite, and her doctor tells her to smoke it so she can eat and not feel so much pain. My FIL smokes it because of his arthritis. My husband used to smoke it before he enlisted in the military. He smoked it for almost 13 years, and quit cold turkey, just like that. It's less addicting than tobacco...at least that's what he said. I only smoked it once...and unfortunately I didn't know the person well who I smoked with and it was laced with something...we think it was cocaine because my heart rate went up and I felt jittery...and weed is supposed to do the opposite. Anyways...the weed won't harm you...smoking it will but that's the only way to get a high from it. Unless you throw it in some brownies or something :D. I am against it, only because it's ILLEGAL. If it were legal, by all means go for it. Or if it's for medical purposes...real medical purposes. In fact, I hope they eventually legalize it for medical purposes. It really helps out my FIL and my mom's best friend.
About becoming a couch potato...not all people are like that...a lot of potheads are. When my husband was smoking, he actually worked better and didn't get high to the point where he was extremely blazed. Now getting really blazed all the time...yeah your pretty much gonna be so high your not gonna wanna get off your ass at all. And pigging out...well...it does increase your appetite. My husband always wanted sweets...ever since he quit smoking it, he doesn't eat sweets at all. I mean, I haven't seen him eat a piece of candy in almost 2 years since he joined. People have different cravings though. A guy I worked with always wanted meat when he smoked. Weird. But, all I've said is only my experience.10 Reply
549 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. I have no problem with smoking weed. I do it fairly often. Today, even. By viks, I assume you mean vicodin. Mixing vicodin with alcohol is already harder on your body than smoking a bowl would be. The amount of tar in a joint is equal to that of the amount of tar in a pack of cigarettes, but most people who smoke both smoke WAY more cigarettes than weed. A lot of those impurities would be eliminated by using a pipe or bong, rather than rolling a joint.
Smoking once won't get you off track as far as your personal fitness. The first time you smoke weed, you might not even feel anything. I didn't get stoned the first time I smoked, and I was taking knife hits, which are fairly intense. In any case, if you do choose to smoke, you seem to have it in your head already that you will only smoke that once. You shouldn't have any problem sticking to that after smoking that one time. I'm naturally lazy, and smoking pot makes me lazier sometimes, but other times I'm more motivated to get up and do something creative. It varies from person to person, as well as from occasion to occasion. I love to munch, so I WILL pig out on everything, but that doesn't mean you will. Not everyone gets munchies. Eat before you smoke, and allow yourself a healthy snack if you really MUST munch on something.
Bottom line though: If you want to try it, then go for it, and don't feel stupid if you get a bit silly. But don't do it just because your girlfriend is harping on the issue. If you don't want to try it, then tell your girlfriend to back off. She shouldn't be pressuring you.20 Reply

Cannabis use may easily lead to hard drug addiction (cocaine, heroine): the "gateway effect":
Read why:
---
There are different pathways that might be the basis for a causal gateway effect in
drug use (see e.g., Stephen Pudney, 2003).
1. The first is an addiction effect: use of soft drugs may create a psychological or physiological need for stronger narcotic experiences.
2. The second is an access effect: obtaining and using soft drugs may bring the user into contact with hard-drug users or suppliers whom they would not otherwise have met.
3. The third is a credibility effect: experience of the use of soft drugs with no obvious ill effects may appear to contradict negative publicity against the use of illicit drugs in general, so that advice against hard drugs becomes less persuasive. In addition there may be an adjustment cost effect: for some individuals consuming any illicit drug may cross a psychological threshold that makes it less costly to proceed into another drug stage.

But what causes number two? The black market and prohibition.
Im a health conscious stoner so ill offer my opinion...
1. The health risks from weed come from the fact that your inhaling smoke, which is never good. However it doesn't contain anywhere near the carcinogens that cigs do. If you don't do it more than a couple times a week you most likely won't notice any decrease in lung capacity. If you want to try weed the healthy way, make some brownies. (Although this is somewhat of a different high, both in duration and intensity)
2. If you do it once there will be no permanent changes in your physiology.
3. As for the munchies, you can do what I do and just not eat while your high. Once you start its hard to stop. Also smoke on a full stomach and you'll be able enjoy your high without food cravings.
4. Smoking weed does not make you a couch potato. Yea sometimes a heavy indica strain will make you just want to listen to music and not move for a bit, but that relaxation and decompression is healthy. Hell I'm high right now, and I'm also going to the gym in a few hours...
That being said, I don't think you should smoke just because your girlfriend wants you to. I think pressuring some one to smoke, drink, or do anything theyre uncomfortable with is wrong. I would question why it means so much to her.79 Reply- +1 y

Something like "burning water" or a "religious atheist", a "sober drunk" "a f*cking nun" a "honest crook"? - +1 y
WOW. okay... where to begin?
1. How much weed is in a "joint" according to that statistic? I can roll anywhere from .5 of dank to 1.5 of mids in a "joint."
2. "Cancerigenous" isn't even an actual word. So, I'm going to assume you meant carcinogens. And even then you're still wrong. Marijuana smoke (the smoke and not THC) does contain carcinogens, all smoke does, but not 7X that of tobacco. The studies I've seen put that number closer to 2-2.5X. - +1 y
3. People who smoke weed don't smoke nearly as much of it, or as frequently as do cig smokers.
4. As for your "statistical link," correlation does NOT equal casuation. Also you can't become schizophrenic unless you had that genetic predisposition in the first place.
And I won't even bother with addressing the "health conscious stoner" comments. - +1 y
This answer is on the money.
Smoking Weed doesn't make you lazy:
I smoke a lot of weed. I also never have a day off. Monday through Thursday I go to class 10-4:30 Friday I work from 3pm to 9:45 pm Saturday and Sunday I work from 9am to 9:45 pm. I ride my skate board to both class and work. I skate anywhere from 4-10 miles daily.(that number doesn't include recreational skating just going to work/class)
I know this post is over a year old but I still feel the need to respond (must be the weed)

+1 ySo you dumped you're girlfriend over a plant? I'm sorry but that's absurd. She makes the choice of using one of THE safest drugs known to humans and you give her that choice? I smoke pot and I do not consider myself a "couch potato" or unmotivated. My girlfriend, at first, told me that it was bad for me and that she didn't want to see me hurt myself in any way. I began to educate her, telling her the TRUE facts about Cannabis( side note: In my contemporary issues course, I brought up the issue of Medical Cannabis in the US and you would not believe the amount of people that were puzzled by the word "Cannabis". Really? So people only know Cannabis by its derrogatory racist name "Marijuana"?)
Anyways, my girlfriend is open-minded and now that she knows these facts about this plant, she really has no problem with me going out with the guys once and a while and sparking up a joint. Anyone who has done ANY research on Cannabis would be surprised at what they find. And I don't mean those government-biased reports where the data is easily manipulated in their favor.
Honestly, I don't blame her for making the choice she did. It was either someone who loved her and accepted her lifestyle, or being stuck in a guilty relationship.
Oh, about those facts you wanted to know? Cannabis in itself does not make one unmotivated and lazy. Many people I know like to smoke and then go to the gym, it drives them. Their is no chemical in the plant that makes you lazy, the same is true with addiction. Unlike tobacco which has nicotine in it, cannabis has no ingredient that caused addiction, although you can get psychologically addiction in the sense that it felt good and you want to do it again. But this is much like anything in the world that feels good. As for the so called "damage" it causes, it doesn't kill brain cells and DOESNT cause lung cancer or is even associated with ANY type of cancer.
I'm not saying that its good for you, but it isn't bad for you either. With respects to other drugs, alcohol and tobacco, it is quite a benign substance. As for what Rachie123 said, while, if you are completely stupid to begin with, yes you possibly could die from making a poor choice, but the amount of people who HAVE are nothing compared to the amount of people who died from poor decisions while using alcohol. And yes, no one has died from overdosing on Cannabis, EVER. I wish the same could be said with many legal and illegal drugs today.
I'm not trying to make you smoke pot, this is the same thing I told my gf. I just want you to ACCEPT it. Many people who bad-mouth the drug have not seen the corrupt side of the government that made it illegal after it being legal for all human exsistence =) I'll let you guys research that for yourselves though. Knowledge is power and when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will truly know peace. Hope this has been helpful.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yOk dude. read a little on what Weed is. Seriously. When ur girlfriend asks you to do cocaine or LSD then you might wanna think about it long and hard.. because that ain't cool. Weed is completely safe lol (yeah I know) it can't kill you.
Ever.
Its safe. be responsible when you use it. take it slow and steady if ur new at it
Ecstacy is .. try it once in your life.. but don't use it occasionally or even monthly or yearly.. that shit destroys a lot of shit in the brain hahaha! long term effects are insane. I tried it once and all I'm gonna say is that id do it again.. but in a very very long time lol. maybe in a few years or something who knows. but its not a cool drug.
Weed on the other hand is safe as f***. No need to be afraid about side effects. the only side effects is that you will laugh ALOT and that ur stomach could hurt because you were laughing for 30 minutes straight LOL. Oh, btw, different people react differently to weed, some get really paranoid, anxious, relaxed.. etc.. All I'm gonna say is that it enhances your CURRENT MOOD. so if ur depressed and shit and you smoke you could do some more harm to yourself than some good. but most people are quite happy22 Reply- +1 y
The way you write about it you're probably a dealer or an addict.
Opinion Owner+1 yNope and no. I just know my sh*t. I'm not gonna do something that can f*** up my body biochemically and psychologically as well as physically if I don't know what I'm getting into. I just read a lot of useless and useful stuff. Like Weed and its effect on the human body. Like XTC, I tried it once, wouldn't do it again in a very very long time or ever. It damages you SOO bad its not even funny. But you never know. Just use it responsibly and you're fine.. Use it like its skittles and m&ms... be careful.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yFirst of all, your girlfriend really shouldn't be pressuring you to do something you're not really into. It should be your choice.
If _you_ want to on your own accord smoke weed you don't have to worry about getting addicted. It's about self control. If you don't want to be addicted to it, then you won't be. And smoking once isn't going to mess anything up. It's like having one piece of cake once in awhile. Nothing wrong with it, but when you eat cake everyday then there's a problem. And definitely eat something before you get high if you don't want to pig out on anything later.
I assume your girlfriend isn't a weed smoker otherwise you'd be asking her all these questions? So, be cautious where you get your weed from. Weed itself isn't addictive, but some people like to lace it with more addictive substances (tobacco is popular).
Again, I can't stress enough that if you're going to smoke, do it because YOU want to. Not because you want to make your girlfriend happy. If you do it and you don't really want to, you're not going to enjoy it and the point is to have fun.10 Reply
+1 ywelll first off, it is your choice to do it or not,
and you shouldnt let anyone pressure you into doing something that your not wanting to do,
but I will give you my side of smoking pot if you wanna here it, I live in a small town in alaska, and there isn't much to do here. at the ag eof like 13 I started smoking just from time to time, but over the last summer I started smoking well alot, I would get high eh at a miniumm of 3 times a day, I never had any money for anything else, not even gas for my car. but I always had pot, but with me, I never really got to lazy when I was high all the time. I would smoke a bowl right before I went to volleyball practice, and I would still out run most of the girls on my team, but ... then I descided that it was time for me to get a job, and I completely just stopped smoking one day, I was never really addicted too it, I mean I liked to smoke a lot but it was something that I could choose to do. but that's my story,
i was a complete pot head for a good 6 months, and I have smoked pot 2 times in the past 5 months.

+1 yLife with weed would become more complicated and distracting. You may not get addicted if you try it once but with a girlfriend like that chances are once you'll try it she'll ask again and again. And if you say no she'll have a reason to ask why not this time? And you'll do it again and she'll ask again and it will end up with you doing it several times if not all the time. It is going to take away from your health and your life. You may get addicted and become consumed with weed. The best thing to do is just say no. And even better than that is to dump her. Anyone who would ask you to do that isn't thinking of you. You make her feel bad because you don't do it. She feels guilty so she asks you to do it. It's lowering you to her level.

+1 ySmoking affects everyone differently. There's those that can function high and get stuff done. Then there's those that are bums and cannot do day to day things while high. As for munchies...eat right before you smoke. That can help with the munchy aspect. If you don't smoke anything at all starting to smoke a lot can really affect your exercise. One joint of marijuana is equal to about 20 cigerettes, so who ever said marijuana is better for you than cigerettes was retarded and obviously high lol Your girlfriend shouldn't be forcing you to do anything, that's kind of sh*tty. If you do choose to you'll just have to see how it affects you. I personally can't smoke it makes me retarded and a total bum. My friend on the other hand is in law school doing great. He smokes when he wakes up, in between classes, while studying, and before bed. I don't know how he does it, but he says it makes him concentrate more.
11 Reply- +1 y
It depends on whether you smoke a joint or a pipe or a water bong. Joints are horrible. Water bongs are better because it helps to filter out the impurities. It is also possible to get the active ingredient in a paste and then you don't have the majority of the extra stuff. Of course you don't have to smoke, you can eat it too.
+1 yOkay most people have covered all the facts about the side effects of weed but seriously while weed is a tame drug it is still a drug. It is also a gateway drug so you should be aware that many people who start of just doing weed end up getting into heavy drugs. All that aside don't let your girlfriend or anyone else pressure you into doing drugs. It is your choice! So if you really wanna try weed and have the facts then great if not then really it's not for you. Maybe you should ask your girlfriend why it's so important to her that you try weed. Hope this all helps! You sound like a good guy so I hope you make the choice that's right for you whatever that may be :)
10 ReplyI suggest you don't. I saw the updated question and it says you didn't, but who knows what has happened since then. News Flash..it does make you lazy and unmotivated. I have done it several times with my boyfriend and all it does is "enhance" things and put us in a better mood. If you are into fitness I suggest not to, my boyfriend used to work out like crazy, now he has gotten skinnier and just wants to sit around. A lot of people also get used to it and are not able to or enjoy eating unless they do. That's somethin to think about. People say you can't die while doing it which isn't true. You can die from making stupid decisions by being all wacked out and you can definitely throw your life off track. You're a good lookin guy, it will mess up your skin, your teeth, your brain. what's attractive about that?
00 ReplyI tried weed once and I didn't like it because I knew the emotions I was feeling were more or less fake. At the time I felt super happy and relaxed which caused me to fall asleep at a friends on accident. When I woke up in the morning my car had been towed :(. All my friends smoke so I feel happier not being high because I know if I'm not, nothing bad will happen. As far as the food question everyone reacts differently so you might not even get hungry, I didn't. You won't physically get addicted to pot but if you like the feeling you'll want to do it more just like anything else, hope this was helpful.

+1 yTake this from somone who just quit after smoking pot for 8 years almost everyday, she wants you to smoke with her because she feels guilty and by you doing it with her you would be making her think its right and your relationship might become dependent on weed. I know that was vague and kinda farfetched but trust me its not. All I could think about for the last 8 years was smoking pot and now that I quit I have lost 40 pounds in two months time and I'm now saving the money I spent on pot which was over half my pay check and will able to afford a down payment on a 5 bedroom 4 bath house in Southern California in 1 and a half years ( I gave my self and extra half year too make sure) and I am finally able to communicate with people because marijuana greatly affects your ability to communicate and I fear your mate might true be hurting inside and just wants somone to understand.

+1 yIt will make you get the munchies yes. It isn't really all the addictive no. Especially if you have the mind set that you curently have that you don't want to become addicted. Although I don't reccomend this considering you care for your health it is horrible on your lungs can cause lung cancer just like cigerettes, and honestly no person is worth hurting your body over. That is crazy. I would tell my girl if she tryed to force me into something like that, that if she can't respect that I don't want to do it, then I guess she doesn't respect me. I have done it. Although I never want to again. Don't do it man you'll just regret it. You seem like a very intelligent guy man, you should find yourself a girl that maybe isn't into such things, or that respects you more. :).
Good luck hope that helped some. I'd reccomend don't do it. And my other reccomendation is if she can't let go that you don't wana do what I had to do in a similar situation in hs and find a new g/f.

What is already known on this topic
Frequent recreational use of cannabis has been linked to high rates of depression and anxiety in cross sectional surveys and studies of long term users
Why cannabis users have higher rates of depression and anxiety is uncertain
Previous longitudinal studies of cannabis use in youth have not analysed associations with frequent cannabis use
What this study adds
A strong association between daily use of cannabis and depression and anxiety in young women persists after adjustment for intercurrent use of other substances
Frequent cannabis use in teenage girls predicts later higher rates of depression and anxiety
Depression and anxiety in teenagers do not predict later cannabis use; self medication is therefore unlikely to be the reason for the association

Personally, the only time I enjoy smoking it is when I'm with a girl (making out or more), watching a good movie or listening to a variety of music on a hi-fi stereo system. When you intimate with someone and you've smoked weed, everything just feels amazing and you last longer resulting in amazing orgasms.
Why? You might ask. It makes some enjoyable things THAT much better (like alcohol but way better). I'm talking once every weekend or two. If you smoke it everyday (like alcohol) it's not good in my opinion. I enjoy smoking once in a while over getting drunk or drinking too much (as you don't get sick).
For a while I used to smoke everyday (on & off) in my late teens/early twenty's. But after college and with a real job, I only do it once a week or so. I turned to working on my body with a clean diet & exercise 5-6 time a week. Daily use would definitely make it hard to maintain a great body.10 Replyi don't thinking smoking weed becasue someone else is pressurubg you is thr right desicion. however I'd like to point out that smoking weed will not turn you into a couch potato, I smoke weed every now and again and I am involved in sports for a living... also my best friend is a pro golfer and smokes more weed than anyone I know. just putting it out there...

+1 ydon't do it. you don't get addicted if you do it. like I did it like 6 times and I stopped its so gay there's nothing exciting about it. seriously this is what it feels like being high: your so hungry and tired so tired its hard to keep your eyes open. cool right? haha there's no point its super gay...of course...in just my opinion
10 ReplyWell...i don't know whyy your girlfriend would be begging you to do it...maybe she just wants to experience it with you tho:). I used to do weed a lot, not so much nemore...i just have stopped liking to get high alot. But if you do it, you will most likely just get realllly high the first time, and yes you will get the munchies:P but its not like being drunk so if you don't want to eat junky food then you should be able to control yourself lol:)

+1 yYou will get really stoned and hungry, and since you will become angry and paranoid because you never smoke, you will eat your girlfriend. I know it sounds crazy, but it happened to my friend Kenny. Be very careful with this one as eating your girlfriend is illegal. You will be able to plead temporary insanity, but you will still do some time. C'mon man use common sense, are you really this much of a moron. She didn't choose drugs over you, she chose someone who can figure out simple answers to simple questions.

+1 yDon't let her pressure you into making bad decisions. That's ridiculous. She should be looking out for her best interest. That would be a dealbreaker for me if a guy was trying to pressure me all the time because I wouldnt' want to, whether weed or just a cigarette. And if they did it more than just once in a while, it would be a dealbreak as well.
00 ReplyI smoked twice..I find really no need to do it..I felt stupid for doing it..I just laughed at everything including a picture of jesus for some reason and I ate so much..I really don't find a reason to do it unless you are in a great state of depression

+1 yjust do what you want to do.if you're into exercise and nutrition, then do that. I'm into nutrition and taking care of myself so I won't do what others tell me to do-ie. trash my body. I don't drink, I do occasionally but I' m not a hardcore drinker and I don't smoke.so yeah
00 ReplyI'm late to the party, but I have this advice:
Run away from this girl ASAP, and as fast as possible, and as far as possible.
Dope smokers are nothing but bad news. They're experts at rationalizing their addiction and their foolishness. Addicts want nothing more than to drag people down to their gutter.
Run.
Don't look back.01 Reply- +1 y
I'm a dope smoker and I'm not rationalizing why I like pot, but why the world should accept it and legalize it. I smoke occasionally, meaning once or twice a month, on occasions more. I don't consider myself addicted in any way, shape or form. Learn to think outside you're taught ways of life.
ive done it and I don't know man
i like it
personally I would say no don't do it
but like I do it so I can't really say much
you have a point though
you work out and everything
so just don't do it
it will go down the drain
if she keeps on asking then you can either smoke it or break up with her your choice00 Reply
+1 yOmg this is the best answer you will get DO WHAT YOU WANNA DO you don't have to read up on it and study the subject obviously you won't die and obviously its not the healthiest thing to do but its your body do what you want with it not my personal choice to smoke weed its not my stlye I don't do it but that's me its what I choose so you do what you think is ((best)) hint hint) for you but one thing like everyone has said don't be forced into what you don't wanna do good luck :)
00 ReplyYea you can do it once and stop. The substance itself isn't addictive, it's the psychological high that people get addicted to which is unlikely to get your first time anyway. There is a chance that you'll get the munchies but you can pig out on healthy stuff. It all depends on how much you smoke.
00 ReplyThere is no chance of addiction to weed after one try. The form of acid is so mild one try won't do a thing in the way of addiction. One try will not harm your lung capacity and yes - you will eat everything in sight. Its more about how you're going to feel about yourself afterwards. Its completely up to you.

There is no physical addiction that can set in even if you smoked once a day for 3 months. its 99% psychological. Just toke responsibly and be safe, don't go eating 3 brownies and smoke a 4 gram cigar afterwards.... ull be going on a trip if you do that(I actually had a out of body experience doing this... it was both cool and scary) but if ur starting out, take it nice and easy, don't let anyone force you to do more. try one puff, wait a while, if ur not feeling it take another. but don't overdo it

A week later THC (tetra hydro cannabiol, the active substance) will still be found in urine or blood. Anything that breaks down so slowly is an inherent danger because when a user takes it next time, there will be much left from previous use: hence the "pothead syndrome".
So the "no physical addiction" is crap. The twentyfirst century weed is much stronger (higher THC concentrations) than the nineteensixties marihuana. This is a dubious present from Dutch weed growers, who altered the seeds. - +1 y
Actually the THC that stays in your blood and urine is not the same as the THC that gets you high. The Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol that you smoke gets converted into other forms like 11-hydroxy-tetrahydrocannabinol, which have absolutely no effect on you.
Weed is not stronger now then it was years ago. If anything it is weaker because it is harder for people to grow it in optimal conditions because of its illegality. Even if the Dutch engineered some altered weed, the weed we smoke isn't Dutch. - +1 y
When drugs leave your body fast, its for a reason. When they take its time to process, it usually means that its not that malicious and will need time to do what it needs to do. If your body thought weed was dangerous, it would be out of your body in 48 like alcohol as opposed to its weeks of being in your body.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 ydnt smoke just cause ur girlfriend is telling you too.she is so wierd.i would dream of a healthy guy like u.it ll never be once if you started smoking you ll do it again and yes you ll eat like a pig.u deserve better than ur girlfriend sorry.she should appreciate u.

Any guy smoking because his girlfriend tells him too do it has no balls. It sounds like a joke, what Iwrote but I know firsthand about many users having really serious erection problems after a few years of use. What do they do then? they take another joint or bong, to stop worrying...
Really sounds great! :-S :-P
(And I didn't got to write about their the mental health problems, all to frequent...)
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yi love drinking, I HATE smoking anything. don't do it. I've tried, not even worth it. just inhaling it and the way it felt in my throat and lungs makes it feel sooo gross and unhealthy (im a healthy eater and exerciser too).
she should respect that you're not into it.11 Reply- +1 y
Personally preference is fine in my books, but if you drink because you think its healthier than smoking pot then that's where my problems is. Plus, you don't have to smoke it, you could vaporize it or bake it into practically anything.

+1 yWell: it's quite simple: your girlfriend IS addicted and doesn't want to be alone with her addiction, so she's pulling you down with her: the well known "drowning together syndrome".
IF you care about yourself and your future, about her, try to get her off the hook. (I'm afraid you'll not be able to do it-smarter men tried, without success) Just think what are you going to do if you fail to get her off it? She will need help and money, lots of it.00 Reply If she wants you to do something that's obviously not good for you then she doesn't love you. But that's not the question. Anyway, most people get hooked because they said 'I'll just try it'. Do not listen to the motto 'try everything once'. The most drastic thing, you could get really addicted and keep lieing to yourself that you'll only use it once more, but it could also lead to taking other drugs. I personally think drugs [and alcohol] are stupid but that's just me.

I disagree that her asking you to smoke pot means that she doesn't love you. I would also like to point out that marijuana is not a habit forming drug.
The side effects of marijuana are lethargy, short term memory loss, and obviously whatever effects you experience while high (more of the direct effect than side effect). The decision is all yours, and should be made by you based on your own values and intuitions. - +1 y
I agree. My brother started smoking weed, and 'thought' he had enough will power to stop whenever he wanted. So he decided to go up a step, and try other types of drugs, all because of peer pressure......well, now he's turned into a drug addict. I know you'll probably say that that could never happen to you, but that's what my brother thought too. They're is a reason they catagorize weed as a 'drug'. It's unhealthy, and smoking weed can easily lead to other things.
Hm, honestly, if the girl really likes you, she'll understand what you feel about drugs and respect your wishes. Usually druggies want partners to do it with them, and bringing others down with them. If not, dump the bitch. :]
00 Replyweed isn't that bad dude, way better of an idea then popping pills and drinking, but then again I'm a stoner lol. Id say you were lucky since I can't even find any stoner chicks, but it looks like you broke it off so too bad.

Opinion Owner+1 yOops sometimes I just press the anonymous button... it's Omicronpie here... I stand by my comment. If you disagree about the harm of weed (far less harmful than drinking or smoking cigarettes), then it'll get to both of you.
Girls like guys that aren't afraid of p.ussy like things, and if she likes weed, then you should at least try it.
+1 yDon't do it if you don't think it is right. If she doesn't respect your decision to not do it then drop her ass and gets someone who respects your decisions.
00 ReplyI don't have any advice in the side effects department but you shouldnt give in the pressure to smoke that your girlfriend is putting on you, if you don't want to do it, you shouldnthave to
00 ReplyAsk her WHY she wants, so desparately, you to smoke weed. Find out the underlying reasons. It may take serveral rounds of WHYs to get the core reasons.

so much for your health10 ReplyWeed is not going to hurt your body at all. Trust me, I'm the same as you when it comes to health and I still smoke it sometimes (socially).

Pure logic: she feels bad about doing it and would feel less bad if you did it too. All drug users I've known were always trying to persuade others to get on drugs too.00 Reply
+1 yDon't do it because someone is pressuring you into it If she keeps pressuring you maybe she's not the right girl for you and you should move on

00 Reply451 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Do what you feel is right, not that you should do it for her. If she continues to push you to do it, she's not much of a girlfriend.
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Viks? As in Vicks VapoRub? You put that smelly stuff in yer drink? Man...that ain't right! No wonder she thinks ya otta smoke weed.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ywell I say if you don't already do it, and its not something your comfortable with, then don't do it! it affects people in different ways. if your into healthy living then its probably not the best option for you. just tell your girlfriend that you don't care that she does it but you don't want to so just lay off :) maybe word it a little nicer than that, lmao. anyways I hope I helped!

00 ReplyJust tell her that you don't want to be pressured into it, and if she doesn't listen break it off with her. It only takes one to make a habbit. you might like it a lot and make it your life (not good). then your body is wasted.
