Do girls care about virginity?

Question

I'm 21, a guy, and a virgin. Basically I'm wondering, do girls even care about this? Won't get too far into it, but most of the reasons it never happened are pretty much cleared up by now, such as lack of confidence, being unsure of myself, discomfort in social situations, stuff like that. Not that I'm a "social superstar" or anything but I like and respect myself, which is more than enough for me, and everything else will follow. But the fact remains, I've never had sex, and as an upperclassman at college, it seems that I am in the vast minority when it comes to socially adept people. Basically, whenever the topic comes up in conversation, virgins are sort of scoffed at by the girls my age, stuff like "I just couldn't have sex with a virgin, it would suck" or something like that. Now, I am almost  positive that these same girls would change their minds quickly/pretend they never said it if we were in an intimate situation and I brought it up. I may very well have answered my own questions, but I'd still like to hear some thoughts on the matter. Thanks guys.

I am 20 and also a virgin. When I am looking for guys I never even think twice if they are a virgin or not, because if you are compatible with someone that dosn't even matter. Yea I've heard the whole thing about the first time being anything but amazing etc etc but seriously if I was with a person I really loved, despite first time mishaps the person would make me smile. I admire you for respecting yourself, that is also why I remained a virgin, I want to make sure that first guy is someone who is also respectful such as yourself and someone I can also trust.

Most people don't think about this but just the thought of being a virgin and doing it for the first time is very very kinky. Even if I wasn't a virgin it would turn me on a bit knowing its the guys first time and he gets to explore it with me. Give yourself a pat on the back, you're great just the way you are! :)

Same here, I admire that in a guy. It means you have a higher chance of VALUING SEX, instead of just "going cheaply" To me, only a girl who is looking for a cheap thrill would say something as cheesy as "the sex would suck." Unless that's what you're aiming for in which case, just go to a bar and ask them to 'do you a favor,' or something. They'd probably be honored.

Anyway, considering you've mentioned you have more self-respect for yourself than that, I salute you. And I come from a long line of beautiful women with very good genes... So this isn't coming from some kind of loner, ugly, social outcast or whatever. Heh..

well I am 21 and also a virgin and feel like every guy is not. So If was to find someone that I liked and wanted to have sex with and they were a virgin I would be glad, someone to take the stress away of that first time  because we'd share it.  But I know in this day its hard to find someone of either sex that is a virgin around this age.  I think some girls might be put off like you said, but some girls might jump at the opportunity.  If they really were into you I doubt they'd mind. They would have an opportunity to teach you what they like or let you release all your pent up sexual frustration .  haha   everyone has got to have a first time, I'm sure they'd understand.

Well, maybe it's just the types of women I've talked to and hung around, but I've gotten teased saying they'd have fun breaking me in, the majority of women I've heard from seem to have an appeal to it, but I think either way it can be attractive, I mean either they'll like the fact that you're a virgin so they can break you in, or you're new to it or whatever their reason/reasons, or they'll like that you aren't, because it means you should know what you're doing or at least have an idea. it's not really as important as you might think, think of it this way, would it matter much to you if you were with a woman that was or wasn't a virgin? it's only going to matter as much to them as it matters to you, so just don't worry about it too much, I hope this helps.

I'll keep this simple. I'm 25 and still a virgin. I can't remember a single time when a woman was turned off by that fact. A lot of the women I talk to find it kind of "cute", and this includes women who are older than I am.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you really thing the woman would have a problem with it, just don't bring it up and be willing to ask her questions to see what she likes. Heck, you should do that even if you aren't a virgin.

the thing is, I wouldn't judge you for it unless I had a feeling that your reason for being a virgin was because you were secretly gay.  I would probably be totally fine with you being a virgin as long as it was clear it was for normal reasons, as you state.  I once hooked up with a 20 year old virgin at college.  I was 18, and not a virgin, but I wasn't that experienced, and I found it to be a relief.

Not only do I find it very attractive and admire it but I would also require it of anyone I date unless maybe if it was a very unusual situation and not their choice.

I am a virgin and I plan on staying one till my wedding night. Its really really important to me and I don't think it matters that I won't be 'experienced' because I fully intend to marry a guy who has waited for me just like I am waiting for him. So we'll figure it out together.

I wouldn't care. I wouldn't worry about it too much either. When the right girl comes along she won't care either. I was a virgin when me and hubby got together and he was far, far from. But, I guess it's different  because guys like having a girl who hasn't been around.

okay, welll I'm only a freshman. But out of a lot of people I could probably understand what yours going through. It took me up until the other day to kiss my boyfriend, which I dated for alkmost 8 months I lack confidence horribly. I never was through a real relationship. and I got teased all the time about it. People were rude, but just like you I like to respect myself. Being in love is the scariest thing ever. Many people say they want to be, but never think of what it takes to get there. Don't worry about it, you'll find your perfect girl. It might take a while, but don't be like an average highschool dumbf*** and have sex because itll "make you cool" just sit and wait and that's all you can do. And more than likely when its your first time, the girl will be happy to know you waited for her, and you can share a special connection. hopefully this helped, bye(:
