When I'm walking, I usually always keep my head up and look at the person I'm passing. I notice that girls sometimes keep looking forward or turn their head away. When I smile and say hello they either just smile. Or some will say "hi". How do I know if the girl is happy and thinking "OH MY GOD HE JUST SPOKE TO ME!" or is disgusted and is thinking "oh my god I can't believe that creep just spoke to me"
How do I know in that split second whether I have a chance or not? What is the best way to approach a girl that I am just walking past?
just give her a cute smile and when you walk past turn your head round if she has turned round she likes you if not then maybe she was a little offended .I love it when it happens and I always turn round and give a cheeky smile so try that and if you see someone you really want to like get her number ect do what the one below said about going back and saying sorry did you drop that and if she says no say do you want it I liked that lol x

Wow ha ha I never thought guys thought of this. but to let you know I have done that to guys passing me by and I can say I look with disgust when its old men [perves] but the others [my age] I can tell you make me nervous so I look forward, which I shouldn't but I get shy.

Honestly..yes if I was to be approached like that I would communicate with the guy. because I can't just not talk back you know. and I mean it in a good way because sum girls need that extra direct nudge from a guy =) - 3 months ago
You'll never know until you strike up a conversation really. Just as long as you don't come off as some pompous jerk (meaning, don't check out her rack while walking past her) then it'll be alright to approach any woman. When some cute guy smiles at me, I actually smile and just keep looking forward because I don't know what else to do when a stranger says something to me. But once, a cute guy that had walked past me in the mall turned around after I walked past him and slightly yelled "ma'am is this yours?" and when I looked at it and said no, he was like "well do you want it?", and it was his number written down on a piece of paper. I dunno, it was pretty cute :)
