Why would a guy try to hide his girlfriend from another girl?

There is a guy I like (I know he likes me too but we don't know each other). The thing is he always tries to hide his girlfriend from me-we live near each other but his girlfriend doesn't and whenever she's round he will totally avoid my house or anywhere where I might be and the other day I saw him and it seemed like he was trying to hide the valentines card he got his gf, I mean why would he do that? It's obvious he's going to get his girlfriend a card so I don't see the point in him trying to hide it from me.

This is a really good question, and I'll do my best to tell you the truth, maybe if I tell you a little story it'll all make since, I really like a lot of girls, I must admit that I have a lot of girls I could become serious with, but I don't want that, I just like to date. I Just really recently figured out that this shy girl has liked me the whole time, and every time I would walk around holding a different girls hand, or talking about a kiss that I had with girl A or B , I was hurting her. this guy that likes you feels the same way I bet. He is just trying not to hurt you/protect his chances with you. All guys hide things from girls, We can't help it, we always think we know best, we don't, but that doesn't matter, So dear, maybe what you could do is tell him that you understand he likes this girl, Let him know it's ok to like more then one girl. I'm sure your not trying to hurt his relationship(so it's ok I think) I hope that everything works out for the best, REALLY

he wants you more than he wants his girlfreind BUT he doesn't want to lose his girlfreind unless you are a sure deal. Kinda sucks for his girl, she has no idea she is playing second fiddle to you and he is just settling with her. kinda messed up but that's what his heart is making him do...doesnt mean he's a bad guy but the heart makes people do crazy things. Question is: do you like him? enough to make him break off with his current girlfreind? if not you need to make it clear to him he has no chance with you . this way  he can focus on his girl more instead of you.

I have the same problem.  I don't know why the guy tells me he doesn't let his female friend (also ex gf) know about his current girlfriend, while he shows interest in me and tells me about everything without me asking him.  Why is that?!

Because his girlfriend is probably insecure and doesn’t trust him around other girls’ so he distances himself from you when she is around to try not to start any conflict or drama and to not make her upset , by thinking he is cheating on her , This type of behavior happens in a lot of relationships sadly to say , it stems down from insecurities and trust and selfishness What he is doing behind his girlfriend back , shows he only cares about himself , if he truly valued her and loved her , he wouldn’t be hanging out with you behind her back period. He would be more respectful and loving in his relationship with her. Why guys’ and girls’ really can’t just be friends , unless there is no attraction between you both what so ever , if one of you is attracted to the other , than that can cause some serious issues , are you sure this guy only likes you as a friend or is he slowly trying to get more from you? Is he investing a lot of time and energy into you , does he call you on. Regular basis and tries to see you as much as possible? If that’s the case , then he more than likely wants to be more than just friends with you , A guy will not invest a lot of his time into a girl just to be friends with her , he won’t waste his time , just the way it goes sadly to say, he more than likely already pictured himself having sex with you and having his way with you , if he does end up in bed with you , he will more than likely try to keep you and his girlfriend by his side as much as possible to use the both of you. He only cares about himself. He doesn’t truly value his girlfriend, he just likes the convenience of her. His relationship with her will more than likely not last if he is constantly keeping secrets from her. Just be a matter of time before she finds out and dumps his selfish ass.

My boyfriend try to hide me from his female friends 😂 and im his girlfriend. We had a big fight because that girl think he’s single and flirting with him. Even he didn’t respond to if. It’s hurting me. He finally tells her he have girlfriend after I told him just be with her. I will just walk away. Sometimes i think he dont want her to know because he likes her. But we once break up and he had a chance to be with her, she even move nearby my boyfriend place. But he comes back to me and we back together. I got to know that girl move around his place after i check his phone. Fight started after that. And he finally tells her he have a girlfriend.

Using my old next door neighbour as an example. He use to introduce his girlfriend as his cousin when he would talk to other girls, EVEN if the girl knew him and her were a couple. They have now been married more than 30 years, have 2 kids and he STILL introduces her as his cousin to women!

I know this because I kept in contact with them after we all moved away.
