Having different interests helps develop different parts of the brain, at the very least. Also, it can help plan your day to be more efficient and enjoyable. Example- If it's bad weather outside, can practice my music or do my church desk work, rather than garden.
It interrupts your brain and gives you something new to think about. Even if it's not totally new you and the newness wears off quickly.
My thoughts are exactly!
It’s funny how swapping games can feel like flipping an anxiety switch 🎮✨
For me, when I change games, my brain kind of “resets.” New visuals, sounds, and goals distract my mind from the anxious loop. Turok might trigger certain memories, difficulty spikes, or tension, while Perfect Dark feels safer or more familiar.
Switching hobbies or games can break the mental pattern, giving your brain something fresh to focus on and lowering anxiety naturally 💆♀️

Vibe of the game? That’s just a guess. Never played either. Not really my thing.
the good news is my loud anxiety only lasted about hour and a half until I switched the game. I been fine since that time.
A shower or a good walk is nicer
Or just to gather thoughts enjoying reclining at home or music or surfing 📱
Your brain is maxxed out on solving the immediate problem, leaving no spare capacity for long-term anxieties.
Takes your mind off things and getting into something new.
