Girl seems really interested, then all of sudden..not why?

i was introduced to this gorgeous girl and actually had a great down to earth personality, she told me she doesn't play games and is straight about everything. I didn't get her number because she just got out of a long relationship. well I knew her family so I called her house the next day and I went and spent some time with her. she was leaving on a trip for the weekend and told me shed call me when see got back, no call. so I called about 4 days later and she said shed just got back yada yada..she told me shed call me later...well she texted that night, but I had to go to bed so she asked me to call her the next day (good sign right)...i did she said she really wanted to do something with me..so we planned for Saturday, says shell call me with the details Thursday...no call, Saturday...no call...i finally find out she's sick and when I asked her why she didn't at least it me know, she just apologized saying she didn't think about it. so now I'm baffled, so I get over it and ask her the next day...busy...wait a week, she's out with a friend...so I finally text her and say I'm going to stop trying and she writes back (as if she didn't know) that if I was looking for a friend that's OK but she doesn't want to date...well I was too mad at that point so I told her I didn't want any more friends...to me, you don't even treat your friends like that, so why should I want to be her friend and get stuck liking her and being treated horribly...anyway its been a week or 2 and I've tried to send her texts to be polite and ask her how she's doing, she doesn't respond...I'm trying to just let it go but it really bugs me that I can't figure it out...this happens to me all the time is it my fault?
