Entertaining ourselves on a low budget

try cooking a meal together (maybe even invite friends ( a couple) over to help if you want to make it like a double date) sit down together and decide on a menu: salad, appetizers, the main course, drinks and dessert (if you want to make it really interesting, try using only what you already have, instead of going to the grocery store, which could make things expensive, it's amazing what you can make with ramen noodles). assign a course to each person, if it's just the two of you then you each do one big thing and one little thing (like, whoever does the appetizers, has to do the dessert too or something like that). true this really only works if you have a large enough kitchen or a dining area that you can incorporate (like just for mixing ingredients, and then use the kitchen for just the cooking), but it can be interesting, just remember that it's all in good fun, none of that "too many cooks in the kitchen" stuff.

my boyfriend and I do this about once a month, we usually invite a couple over to make it more entertaining. and it's always good to clean up as you go, that way you only have to worry about the dishes when you're done.

instead of staying inside, why not go out for a walk together (weather permitting) just a nice slow walk, see the sights, notice things around your neighborhood. or you could save up and buy bikes and go on bike rides together. that way you could spend time together and get excercise at the same time :)
