Half your age and add 7? Does this rule apply to you?

Or the opposite for girls, take your age subtract 7 then double it?

It is determining the ideal age that you should be with.

So for me I am just about 24, half it to 12 then add 7 so I should date a 19 year old girl.

i liked the rule as for now .

I am 18 so half would be 9 and adding 7 would get me 16 and I love that a 16 year old girl.

But, when I get 20 and she would get 18 this rule would be useless

coz half of 20 would be 10 and adding 7 would give me 17 and the girl whom I liked before would be 18 so it would get pathetic after that.

I think this rule would be good till 25 years of age at the most .

No, it doesn't. My girlfriend is a year younger than me. According to this rule, a 60 years old man should go out with a 37 years old woman! Well, 23 years is not a big age difference, I suppose.-.-

Its not your ideal age that you should be with, but the youngest you should date. And if you do the opposite, it gives you the oldest age you should date. So ideally, you should date someone within that age range.

Like for someone your age, they should date anyone age 19-34.

I don't kknow who made the rule I guess it is a decent guide but age is just a number my "age" according to that means I shouldn't date a guy older than 26 but I like to judge based on the individual as long as he isn't younger than I am or too old either

I'm 19 I would date a 24 year old I just did the math and then saw the rest of the question lol. But when I was 17 I date a guy tat was 27. So anyone that is older as long as they aren't in their 30s that 's pushin it.

I'm 49, so let's run this (rounding out to 50):

50/2 = 25.

25 + 7 = 32.

I don't know about you, but that doesn't seem quite right. If I saw a 50 year-old man dating a 32 year old woman, I would assume that he was going through a mid-life crisis.
