Trust me, there is a big difference between some cheap ass £2 drug store lipstick and a £30 Clinique one.
I get what you're saying about the branding and celebrities though, but people swallow this Celebrity Brand Name shit up, they totally buy into the idea of trying to emulate that particular "celebrity" and will consequently buy any old bit of shit they slap their name on.
Holy fuckballs, they charge 30 GBP for Clinique lipstick over there? My god, that's like twice the cost here (and before the brexit it was like 2.5 times the cost, lol).
I mean, I know it's an American brand, but, still... damn girly.
@redeyemindtricks I'm guessing, but the last time I bought Clinique it was about £20 for a lipstick and that must have been over ten years ago. It was £8 for a tiny bottle of conditioner... but man... that's stuff was amazing!
Those are usually $17-18 at full price here. At the exchange rate, your price is higher, obviously, but that makes sense because it's an import.
Well... If you ever come to the US, they have Clinique in the duty-free section of basically every major airport, so you could stock up on the stuff at US prices without paying tax. LOL...
Do you have Sephora over there yet? I was surprised to learn it wasn't there a couple years ago, considering Sephora/MUFE is based right across the chunnel in France.
@redeyemindtricks never heard of it, and to be honest I don't even wear make up anymore. I think the last bit of cosmetics I bought was a glittery eye liner for a pound from the thrift store, ha! I find it all just makes me look old and I've rubbed it off after ten minutes. I'm au naturel now... complete with blemishes :) :)
hmm... Apart from the looking-better thing, I genuinely *enjoy* doing makeup in different ways and different looks. Couldn't imagine stopping, tbh -- and I'm looking forward to when my daughter's going to be a teenager in a few years, too. (I grew up with a single father and all brothers, so... apart from that, she's being raised exactly like her brothers lol)
@redeyemindtricks I know what you mean but I'm not interested in it anymore. I enjoy face painting and getting all pretty for a festival or parade with glitter butterflys and pretty colours, but I can't be arsed to paint my face for normal life.
My skin is incredibly sensitive too, I've had to start making my own body and face washes because the normal stuff is so harsh on my skin, make up always leaves me with terrible itchy, red skin... I'm a sensitive little flower!
ahah I can totally do full face in about 3-4 minutes. if I do something funky and design-y with mah lips, then that's some additional time, but it's still well under 10 minutes total. It's really not even a noticeable amount of time or effort.
Then again, I'm 41 and I've been doing this stuff since my mid teenage years. (Funny story, my father had a... well, girlfriend? friend with benefits? I dunno what she was exactly, but... a girl... over once. She did some kind of burlesque dancing thing as a part-time gig, and so I captured her makeup bag and held it hostage until she taught me the basics. XDDD) So, that means I've probably done it 10,000 times by now. TEN THOUSAND TIMES.
... but nah, it's like how athletes have those elaborate pre-game rituals that they go through. It's kinda like that. It even gets me focused and pumped for whatever I'm doing that day. Totes srs
Good Take. Not only true of the makeup industry, this is and has been a common marketing technique. Think of all of the money Kylie gets for licensing her name and image. That is added to the price of your makeup. Same goes for a lot of other shit with a celebrity name or image.

I see too many women who will be better losing weight than spending the absurd amounts of money for hair extensions and make up.
It's too bad eating less and exercising is too difficult.
To hell with her products... she's a teen but looks a decade older lol no thanks!!! Plus she should try her makeup on without fillers... Girls only need a nude or matching lipliner for fuller lips... That's all

I agree. I see these women jumping to buy $40 lipstick when they can literally get the exact same thing for $10. It's so stupid but women get sucked in. Occasionally getting a luxury product is one thing, but spending all your money on makeup is dumb af, especially since that shit expires.
I somewhat agree. I feel a most of the customers are buying it just because its Kylies. But then there are some people who buy the makeup because of the makeup
I have really sensitive skin so I can't buy or use just anything. You won't see me buying into these little pop up makeup companies because I could turn into a big ball of hives.
The only thing that is worth more money is foundation if you struggle finding a good shade, the expensive ones tend to have a bigger pallette to choose from.
Nope, I'd rather have expensive shit with a name than some thrift store shit. In my opinion expensive makeup - from the right brand - is best. If I wear expensive makeup, I feel more extravagant, even if it's a scam.
Expensive lips are nice lips.

I'm tired of read about this piece of shit family who have nothing of value, this garbage is really forced by American proapganda? Seriously, why americans want to keep this disgusting family being celebrity? They forget Paris Hilton, why they desperate want to keep this shit family being celebrity when they aren't actors, singers, nothing, they are trash? I fucking hate American media, news, politics, propaganda, narrative, and the garbage who you force in the media.
You are completely right, but that also applies to cloths and tech as well. Think of high priced designer brands that want $160 for a black tank top, or how everyone wants vans or nikey shoes.
I really love makeup and i couldn't agree more. and i also learned that a lot of the major makeup brands out there are owned by Estee Lauder so yea they are all basically the same thing with just a few things changed.

@redeyemindtricks I was over egging it a bit, but there are more expensive ones.

Couldn't agree more!
Kardashians and the Jenners are all fake and popularity obsessed
Kendall is better than her sisters
Maybe, but look her dad/Catlyn. He said he would not go back in the spotlight, but look where he is. His own tv show.
how is she better? bc she bought her way into modeling instead of social media. modeling which she uses on social media anyhow.
To hell with her products... she's a teen but looks a decade older lol no thanks!!! Plus she should try her makeup on without fillers...

I think her original look was way better.. But now she looks absolutely hideous...
I mean look at those lips in the first pic. They are disgusting

Respect! I love this!!!
WTF is going on with the baboon butt lips in the top pic though?
This is assuming everyone thinks she's attractive. I do not.
Kylie Jenner proves that I have lost faith in humanity
Kylie Jenner is a scam.
She's 19. She's done more with her life than haters have.
Because she was born into money and fans due to her sisters sex tape
She actually didn't do shit, she had everything handed to her
