A Lesson For Neo-Traditional Women: This Is What “Traditional Woman” Actually Means

First of all, I’m not traditional myself. But I see many women here claiming they are traditional. This makes me laugh, because they claim they are traditional because they are too good to be in the same container with those dirty liberals.

But this is the truth what traditional means. If you want to be called traditional, then you must follow these traits:

1) A traditional woman shouldn’t be on the internet

You call yourself traditional, yet you are an internet user. This is the biggest reason among all. Internet was supposed to be a progressive thing. And the funny thing is, that when internet became available in the general public during mid 90s, traditional people hated it and considered it a dangerous thing. But a decade later when internet became more and more mainstream, they embraced it, and now they are proud internet users. This is the ultimate hypocrisy. Just cut off your internet connection, if you want to go the traditional way.

2) Career isn’t an option for you

Many women here, say they want to study first, get a job, and then have a family. But no…the word career should be unknown to you. There is no career for you. Traditional women, are supposed to stay at home and take care of their husbands and kids. Not working.

3) If you are 25 and still not married, you are a spinster

Don’t complain if someone calls you like that.

4) If you have a husband, you should ask his permission first, about anything

Yes, that’s the traditional way. Even if you want to go to the toilet, eat or drink, you must ask him first if you can do that. And if he hits you, you shouldn’t sue him for being abusive and all, but only shutting your mouth. That’s the harsh truth about the traditionalism, you like so much.

5) Living in a city is against your beliefs

You claim you are traditional and you live in a city. That’s really wrong. People in the cities are always more modern than the average person who lives in a village. So if you want to be truly traditional, go back to your village.

6) You must sacrifice your personality

As a traditional woman, your husband is your Lord. Whatever religion he is, you are. Whatever political beliefs he has, you have. Whenever he sleeps, you will sleep. Whatever food he wants, you must learn how to make it. Your personality is irrelevant. So your personality, must match your husband’s personality as well.

7) Your appearance shouldn’t bother you

Appearance for traditional women, meant nothing at all. Yes. Nothing. Their only purpose in their lives, was to find a man to marry, have kids, and raise them.

In conclusion: You are traditional when it benefits you. But you enjoy the modern traits of this world when it benefits you as well. Hench, you are what we call Neo-traditional. If you want to be called traditional, try following the actual traditional way. I bet you won't survive for long.

Women were thought of as delicate and fragile. They were thought to not know any better. They could not own land, they could not be educated on things that didn't benefit the family, they were there to run the house and make sure their husband life ran smoothly so he could make the money. And to top it off, the husband could have as many mistresses as he pleased. I mean as a woman you could as well but if the secret slips, you were shunned. I think it's time that we stop romanticizingan era we know little about (those who do have knowledge about the era more than likely do not romantize it) I think it's time we embrace being modern woman. I mean instead of aiming to be a traditionalist let's aim to be modern women who respect ourselves. To me that means: 1. Finding value within yourself outside of the superficial. Beauty fades, minds diminishs, and others opinion of you change from day to day. If you can look in your mirror and say I am a great person because. (fill in the blank) you are off to a great start.
2. Once you respect yourself, you can treat others how you would like to be treated. I mean some people are assholes, should you be an asshole right back. I wouldn't say so. Why? Because your character and integrity should not be based on others. It should be based on your morals and ethics. And just because someone else chooses to show bad manners doesn't mean you should as well.
3. My next point is a combination of point 1 and 2. Don't allow any other person to diminish your value. Don't allow people to use and discard you. If someone only values you for the service you provide, they don't value you, they value the service. If a male or female only wants you for sex, you are nothing more than a sex toy. If a man or woman only want you for the gifts you buy, you are just an atm. If you are only prized for your beauty you are like a fashion trend, one day your in the next day your out. If someone generally likes you for the person you are, truth is they like.
There is nothing wrong with being a traditional woman if that lifestyle is what you are after. But I rather like stating my opinion. I like knowing my husband will remain faithful to only me. And just because I and my husband would feel that I would better service my family as a stay at home mother (at least while my children are young) doesn't make me less of a modern woman. It means I enjoy caring for those in my care. It means I want to make their lives happy.

Oh I am referring to the Victorian era. The upper class obviously. Because we all should know that even than woman work if the family was poor. But it is on my belief that when some people think of traditional they think of that time frame.

I don't think that's exactly traditional. Not working I probably agree with, living in the city to an extent. But the rest is bollocks.
In my dads country for example, these traditional women from the villages don't ask permission for every little thing, and if they want to make bread or something to sell for some of their own change, they can because you know eventually the kids go to school all day, or some women just bring kids with them to do their work.
The Internet thing... There's a difference between tradition and just living in the dark ages for no reason.
Tradition isn't about never having anything nice, like the Internet or basic levels of respect.
And you know appearance has always meant something. Even for those tribes living in rain forests, jungles in Brazil, Africa, Asia etc... those people still have little ceremonies where they'll "dress up" in their sense of the word and have fun. Some have ceremonies where they'll put their body paint type stuff on and the guys try to impress the girls, and girls try to impress the guys and people pair up and end up married with kids.
And those tribeswomen still take care of their hair, using plants and stuff to mix up and make things for moisture or to fit in with their own tribes fashion. They have no Internet and don't wear clothes we wear, and live the way they've lived for hundreds of years, yet they still care.

I say I'm traditional because although I'm at univercity so that I can find a job and a career, it's so I can save and invest in things later in life.
I've always wanted to live in the country either in a cottage or a barn conversion.
I want to change jobs and be a baker and/or own my own small business in the village I've moved to.
Plus I want children which seems to be an ever decreasing thing in todays day and age.
The only social media I have is this, facebook and snapchat which I dont use all that much, mostly just to keep in touch. I almost forgot I have whatsapp which is a cheap alternative to texting, and gives you group chat which is so darn useful.

And there's being traditional, to living in the 1800s.

By the way, I grew up in a time when at least 95% of the married women were house wives. It was nothing at all like what you say. The irony is that the women who lived in those times don't complain about it. They are just fine with how things were. It's mostly people who didn't live in those times who complain. Who do you think understands it better, the ones who actually lived through it, or the ones who never experienced it?

All I can do is shake my head at all these weird ideas that persist. Mostly being perpetuated by people who have no first hand experience or knowledge.

All I can say is a lot if stuff are true and still happen in my culture. Mostly to women in villages so 1 3 4 6 is true. 2 well in the village u work but it's usually things like harvesting, selling crops and goods at the market, being a mid wife, selling ready made meals... nothing like being a teacher or professor or even a doctor... u need to go to the city and go to school to do that but a lot of men don't want their women to be more successful than them. Hurts their pride. In some places girls are married off young or aren't allowed to go to school. Most cases the boys r doted on and encouraged to go to the city get a good job come back get a nice village wife and make a life for himself in the city buy still take care of his parents financially. I guess it depends on your culture what a traditional woman is.

That's a very strict version of "traditional" within only one culture. For example in some cultures well men might have the final say over money women would have the final say over anything child related (such as schools etc).

As for the type of women you're actually talking to the can most certainly be on the internet. It just means they belief in a vague version of gender roles where she spends more time with the children. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Fellas.. no matter what type of woman you are into, I guarantee that they prefer a guy who takes care of his body and particularly his penis. This is 2016, I've had other relationships and by no means did any of them treat me like it was 1919. That crap is for the birds, I'm not Donna read and this ain't the party duke show. I will do what is fair, and what is respected and expected of me as a significant other, maybe more. This is about devotion , trust, loyalty, and commitment.
