i used to be 180 lbs and cut down to 130 in 3 months by eating small portions, but lots of meals
so i would eat 6 meals a day, but i would (for example) eat half a sandwich instead of a whole one, i also ate different types of meat and fruit.
no beef or chicken. buffalo, and assortments of fish
i would eat a lot of apple peels and yogurt (be sure it tastes sour and is not to creamy)
and before going to bed i would take a papaya pill. the whole bottle was like $8.50 and you can buy it at walmart and target
its not very hard, you just have to trick your body into rejecting extremely sugary things. after the 3 months were over i couldn't even eat a whole tub of ice cream any more.

Of course exercise helps to, if you don't like exercise try go for a walk every day. 1 hour walking burns between 250 to 300 calories!!
Continue with whatever you are eating. Limit your potion size, number of servings and slowly incorporate loads of veggies, fruits and nuts. Remove or limit the calorie rich foods like deep fried snacks, french fries, cakes, ..
Use a calorie tracker like the "myfitnesspal" or "livestrong" to help you.

Don't eat so much marbleized meat. Fish is good in that regard. Lean protein. Egg beaters are good in the morning. Find a vegie you can tolerate (that's difficult for me) and eat it. Eat fruits.

Avoid drinking sodas and fruit juice and such, or do so sparingly. Try to drink lots of water only--it can really cut a ton of calories out of your diet.
Also avoid as much bread, sugar, and prepared foods as possible.
So basically, high protein stuff like meat, protein bars, eggs, like that.Do: lots of water, veggies, fruit, lean protein, fiber. Just generally natural , nutritious stuff
