I know, i'm late, but I just now came across this news on facebook. A friend of mine shared a link to it. Should this be worrisome? Do you think it will spread and be nationwide, etc?
Bubonic plague, while serious, can be successfully treated when caught in time. It has not been eradicated and still occurs a few times every year or so all around the globe.

I read it but didn't search further. I remember a few outbreaks of bubonic plague in Africa (two or three in 10 yrs) but they stayed local.
It's no longer as dangerous as before we had antibiotics and anti viralsAnother Zombie apocalypse averted!
