Has anybody ran 10KM or more marathon here?

Hi All,

Today I ran 10K run for the first time in my life. It was fun at the starting but quite tough at the last.
Last 3 km was the most difficult. Every moment I felt like giving up but somehow survived till the last. :) Hip Hip Hurray..

Has somebody out here in gag has tried 10K or more before? How did you feel about the race and will you recommend others to try 10K at least 1 time in there life?

Yup, I'm a long distance runner. I love the feeling to be able to push myself to the next level by either running further or faster. I started at 5K it made me feel good so I started running longer distances on a very regular basis. I basically jumped out of bed end ran 10K every morning. This actually transformed by body and it got so adapted to 10K and I reached a 'running plateau' I always finished at the same time, it wasn't a challenge anymore :( So I started running half marathons, but I don't run it daily because it would take too much time.. I'll be running my first full marathon soon and I hope that one day I'll be able to run an ultramarathon :) What was your time on your first 10K?

10K everyday that is a challenge.. You will be one of the fittest person.
I clocked 47 mins. Which I think is a good time for the first timer. :)

47min is indeed a good time :) You should do it more frequently so your body gets used to it and than you can up your kilometers.

Yes.. I have.. I am not able to feel my leg muscles when I am typing now. I think I over did but gives me a lot of satisfaction to go that far.

I've tried 15km. It was a stretch from my usual but I still enjoyed it.
I'm a sprinter but my teacher once told me to try a marathon. 100m, 200m and 400m soon turned into 800m then 1km, 2km and all the way up to 10km where I was the most comfortable in. Then I wanted to push myself even further and went for 15km. It was extremely satisfying.
It's not 10km but I'd recommend people to try the Colour Run for a start. It's 5km but still really fun whether they're beginners or veterans!

Yup.. you finish any race.. you do enjoy a lot.. help you to understand your potential.
15Km that is a lot of running.. you should definitely feel satisfied.

I've ran 10km twice. Both were at a race and I won my age group both times. I can do 5km without training so it was just a matter of doing at least 7km in training. Someday I will do a marathon.

The first one is only the hard part. Get over that hurdle and the world is yours.
