What are the chances of me having asthma?

For the past 3-4 days I've been coughing really bad and started coughing up blood, anyway I went to the doctors and he's getting me checked for asthma? My real age is 19... My mum has asthma I know genetics play a big role but wouldn't of it been obvious before now?

I inherited a bit of asthma but never coughed up blood.

It didn't stop me from doing the 10 mile cross country run with full battle equipment, boots, rifle, gas mask and helmet when in the army, at 25.

I wasn't among the last to finish the run. (Not among the first either but they were 5 years younger than me and sports fans)

But every flu I get (once a year) starts with asthma.

Do you live in an area where it is late spring. If so, you could have a hayfever problem with pollen.

I know that you already picked best answer but coughing up blood isn't a symptom of asthma. There's something else going on. I don't want to scare you but the only thing I can remember is that coughing up blood is a symptom of lung cancer.

Not for everyone, mine comes and goes. I didn't even know I had it till I got pneumonia one year. Which made my asthma much worse for a couple months
