Should I join a recent softball team if I've never played before. Will people laugh at me if I suck?

I've been meaning to try and join a softball team. The ossc offers a recent league in my area. I've never played softball before and I have no idea if I will suck royally. I'm scared if I join and I'm not good people will hate me on my team. Should I try it out?

I have never played softball on a team or even for fun until the beginning of June. I had one week before tryouts and I just watched a bunch of softball videos and practiced with my brother and finally tried out. I knew and they knew I had no experience. The softball girls were extremely nice and supportive, wouldn't criticize or laugh. If I made a mistake I'd brush it off or laugh it off and it was all okay. I didn't make it but I'm trying out again so I'll have more practice. I don't think I was so horrible but I needed to work on some things. I didn't get to bat with my brother because he's a bad pitcher but at tryouts I batted for like the first real time and I'm actually very good at it. No girls will hate you or make fun of you. If they do you shouldn't be on that team and they wouldn't deserve you

You always have to try. Everyone is a beginner at a certain moment, also the players that are good now. If they laugh at you, that is not a good team spirit to build a coworking team.

if you suck just own it lol, make it obvious that you suck people will find it funny and embrace you.
