Looks definitely determine how you're treated in life.

If it were a homeless person, I would probably not do CPR (specifically, the mouth-to-mouth part) because I do not carry the mouthpiece for it.

However, if it were a moderately well-dressed person who fell into distress, I would consider it. The decision is based on my perception of whether there is a health risk posed to myself by performing CPR to the person (i. e. the transmission of disease). It's no surprise that people perceiving sick individuals will tend to avoid them. A scruffy, dirty, poor individual is perceived to be less healthy and have a greater probability of carrying disease.

As for the moderately dressed individual, the circumstances would also influence my decision. If they just dropped and started frothing at the mouth... then no. If they are in a car accident then perhaps yes.

i'd call 911 and then yes i'd perform CPR. Knowing CPR i just don't see how i could walk past any person who was dying without doing something to potentially help them out

Homeless people are somebody's sons, fathers, brothers, daughters, etc. There are many reasons they became homeless; not all are hopeless drug addicts or drunks.

My job has me in the midst of these folks every day, and I've had to do CPR on them countless times. It sucks to lose a patient no matter their background.

How does that saying go? Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if I had a pocket mask you'd still be with us. Honestly though, no. Because unfortunately there are many diseases out there and I have a family to go home to. Chest compressions yes, but full on mouth to mouth, probably not.

No. Not to stereotype homeless people or anything but I don't know shit about that person's medical history. Even if it was just a stranger who wasn't homeless, I'd be reluctant to performing CPR on them. I don't know what diseases they might have. Maybe if I had one of those mouth guard things I could do it. But otherwise, no. I'm not risking my own health like that.

Yes of course, but usually it's hard to tell what they are doing g because they usually don't have enough energy to move or make life happen. They are humans, society put them on the streets

You don't have to give mouth to mouth. They say the chest pushes are the most important part so if you feel like you'd get something bad from them just do that. It alone can make the difference.

Yes, but also keep in mind you could do CPR without using respiration. Just the chest pumps would keep the blood circulating.

The new CPR metgods don't require to much breathing into the mouth anymore, mostly compression and you could just put a handkerchief over their mouth to breathe into during at times

Spot on. Just rigorous compressions will passively move air through the lungs and is better than nothing until help arrives.
