Is it common to misperceive your body? (after weight loss)

I used to weigh myself maybe once a year or even less (only when I had to). Few weeks ago I had to weigh myself and I weighed more than 30lbs less than I thought. I really thought the scale must have been wrong so I tried as much scales as possible but I was really shocked. Since than I've lost more than 10lbs which puts me nearly in the underweight category but I still can't believe I look this size when I compare myself to others wearing this size I look much bigger. Is this common?
