There's no pride to be had... You're not a hero for being gay, or bisesual... in fact you're not a hero for being heterosexual. In todays day and age being , who you are doesn't and shouldn't make you special more than anyone else... So I don't get this sort of things.

Pride is not about being more special than anyone else.
Being gay or bi or trans used to be viewed as a negative thing. There are many people who still view it as a negative thing.
in some countries it is still illegal to be gay and some people are even executed for it.
There are still people protesting against gay rights. We weren't even allowed to get married in every state since only 2 or 3 years ago.
Parents even cut their own children off for being gay.
Pride is about loving who you are. It's about human rights. It's getting past the hatred and being proud about who you love no matter what people say.
It's about the history we have made, and the history we will continue to make.
Maybe straight people just don't get it because they aren't told they're going to hell everyday or that they're disgusting or denied basic human rights like getting married or adopting children.

Celebrities don't come out for straight people. They do so because it means the world to people in the LGBT spectrum to feel less alone. If by 'special' you mean 'better than', then no, someone's sexuality doesn't make them better than anyone else (or less than anyone else). If you mean unique, a person's sexual orientation can be - LGBT people are significantly in the minority, and there is nothing wrong with that. Anyone who risks their career and success to be honest about who they are is a hero.

I love Frank Ocean and I knew he was bi sexual. I pretty much picked that up listening to his songs, lol. Other than that, I was surprised to find a few celebrities on this list, only for the simple fact that I don't keep up with Hollywood. Though I will say, when younger people say they're bi sexual, I don't buy it. Bi sexuality is a trend at the moment and just about everyone is claiming it.

That's a form of homophobia, it's called bi erasure. It's the idea that bi people don't exist or if a person says they are bi, it isn't to be believed or is just attention-seeking. It's actually a huge risk to come out as bisexual, whether you are famous or not. A person has much more to risk/lose by doing so. Surely, there are easier less costly ways to get attention. I see no reason to disbelieve someone willing to take that risk and jeopardize their success.

lgbt people are proud because they were not accepted in society for the longest time. There are still people who aren't accepting of them. There are still countries where its illegal to be gay and they get killed for it. gay people werent even allowed to get married in every state since only 2 years ago.

Well, that would be the same as me saying I am proud for being a woman since women were for a long time diminished and didn't have a say in many things society-wise. Of course, generally, women did and do still contribute much more to society than lgbt people (not to say they aren't men and women...).

yanno there actually is a national women's day (and a womens history month) to celebrate womens empowerment/feminism (a lots of other things like the Wonder Woman movie that just came out. everyone is seeing that as empowering for women) and women are still protesting for equal rights and stuff.
so yeah, that basically means "womens pride" is a thing as well.

Its being proud of who you are no matter what anyone says or no matter who protests against it. its about self love and accepting who you are.
not just lgbt people, everyone should love them self. Even if you're different or if other people may not like you.
Don't see why being happy with yourself is seen as such a negative or a "ridiculous" thing.
